In the opening half against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night, the Golden State Warriors knocked down a barrage of 3-pointers to secure an early advantage. While the Warriors drilled 12 triples in the opening two frames, Steph Curry only made one 3-pointer, moving him to 3,999 career-made 3s.

In the third quarter, Curry made history. With a 27-foot jumper, Curry became the first player in NBA history to make 4,000 career 3-pointers.

Every three is a record. This one sets an entirely new standard.

In his second NBA game, Curry made his first 3-pointer against the Phoenix Suns in 2009. In 2021, Curry became the NBA's all-time leader in made 3-pointers, passing Ray Allen. Now, Curry stands alone as the first player to make 4,000 career triples and counting.
