Georgia Bulldogs redshirt junior wide receiver Luke Bennett is entering the NCAA transfer portal. Bennett, who is the brother of two-time national championship quarterback Stetson Bennett, started his career as a walk-on at Georgia like his brother.
Bennett has receiver minimal playing time during his career at Georgia. He hauled in one catch for two yards in Georgia's dominant Orange Bowl win over Florida State in 2023. Bennett appeared in the Georgia versus Tennessee Tech game in 2024, but did not record any statistics.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound wide receiver is likely entering the transfer portal to look for more playing time. Bennett is from Blackshear, Georgia, and played high school football for Pierce County High School. At Pierce County, Bennett won a 3A state championship.
Bennett is the fifth Georgia player to enter the transfer portal this spring. He joins running back Branson Robinson, defensive back Chris Peal, wide receiver Nitro Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley.
Bennett's brother, Stetson Bennett, is now a back-up quarterback with the Los Angeles Rams. Bennett was selected in the fourth-round of the 2023 NFL draft.
Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia football have added three players via the transfer portal this offseason. Georgia signed Illinois running back Josh McCray, Miami defensive lineman Josh Horton and Army edge rusher Elo Modozie.
