Every time I hear Wilks talking I keep getting reminded of Rod Graves

Please don't ever mix Rod Graves and Wilks. Whatever Rod Graves's short comings were, Cardinals were in a super bowl and won 4 playoff games with Graves unlike Wilks success.

This fan base stayed with Dave McGinnis for years. Danny Green basically fired himself. People here (including me, maybe) were saying that Whisenhunt deserved another year. Fans'll get fired up by a high draft pick and a free agent class. People here will be like "He finally has the personnel needed to run his system! Think about how much Leftwich/Rosen learned last year!"

McGinnis was during the we always lose anyway era. Now that people got a taste of winning from Wiz and BA I'm not sure they won't sour quicker.

Note that if Wilks returns, P2 will be gone.

I would rather have Keim, P2, 90+ million cap space than retaining Wilks. Wilks is dead weight to this team. Just cut him loose today.

And despite all his flaws as a coach he came across as a genuinely nice guy...in over his head but I never saw the clueless looks like I see every week on Wilks face.

I said earlier this season I always thought McGinnis was the worst coach in Arizona Cardinals history until now.

I, for one, will be gone too, no games, jerseys nothing. I'm not spending hard earned money on this garbage, there are way too many other things I could be doing than support something that is as inept as this poorly run team. I'm saving my true outrage because I'm going to give MB the benefit of the doubt and see what he does (if anything) and how quickly.

Sun Devil Stadium was/is an abomination. With the new stadium, there should be a commitment from ownership that they put a product on that field who's goal is to play deep into the playoffs EVERY year. That commitment starts with ownership choosing a competent coaching staff. This coaching staff resembles the old CHEAP Bidwill way of yesteryear. BASK was successful in convincing MB that we were close to a championship, and in fact, we were. Unfortunately, a few injuries & a few bad bounces derailed the plan. Now MB is acting as though he has to compensate for the outlay of resources/money he was so willing to put forth under BASK. Great ownership is relentless in pursuit of the Lombardi Trophy. This coaching staff is completely bereft of experience. We went from the most experienced of staffs to a coaching staff that belongs at the Pop Warner level. This is disgusting and inexcusable at any professional level. It's no wonder that Keim drank himself silly. MB drove BA out of town & emasculated SK in the process. To add insult to injury, we now have the weakest coaching staff in any professional sport. Instead of taking two steps back, we're in full retreat. Michael has screwed up badly with this hire. And shame on him if he doesn't fix this asap. Until this year, I had a ton of respect for Michael. Mainly because I watched his Dad run this franchise for decades on end. If we end up with Wilks for 2-3 years, then he's no different than Daddy.

The more I dig into this, the more I'm hearing that it was MB that overruled Keim to hire Wilks. In fact, Keim pretty much washed his hands of the situation. Keim & Arians were best buddies & chummed around (drank heavily) almost daily. Arians knew that a Wilks hire would be devastating, and emphasized that to MB. Keim did the same. Michael didn't like the closeness of the Arians/Keim relationship & made it HIS decision to hire Wilks.
Sorry, need something more than "the more I dig into this". This sounds like speculation off pure gossip.

Call it whatever you want. I live in the same town where BA was born and raised. My kids attend the same HS that he attended. I know the very friends that he grew up with. He visits this area routinely. It's his hometown. When he has spoken at events in PA that I attended, EVERYONE there had a Steeler jersey on. My son & I would be the only ones there with Cardinal jerseys on. I'm not going into any more detail. I hate that I even shared what I did. Your entitled to your opinions. That's fine.

I keep waiting for things to turn around. I thought the kc game might be it but losing to the raiders is just sad.

I had a prior commitment that caused me to miss watching the KC game. It is impressive that we held that team to 330 yards of offense & only 26 points. To only have 260 yards of offense against their weak D is pathetic. Especially in today's NFL.

Would anything convince you aside from an article on AZCardinals.com with the headline: “Keim: Wilks was not my choice”?

The hiring process works against knowing how well a head coaching candidate will handle adversity (i.e. resumes and interviews, by definition, emphasize all the good stuff. No one enjoys talking about things that go wrong).

Coach Wilks has shown us very little evidence that he knows what to do when the wheels come off. (Not his fault - just the way it is). The thing of it is - it can't be ignored- Either bring in someone who can fix it or continue to languish in the cellar.

Well, the wheels came off. What else did you expect Wilks could have done?. No coach looks good when the team is losing, his fault or not.

What did you think he could reasonably have done differently? He dumped his OC minutes into the season when the offense sputtered. He promoted his QBOF just as quickly. His OL has been ravaged. He wasn't given much to work with on O for WR or TE.

I don't apologize for him, I think he's been outcoached at times in playcalling (may not even have been him) and clock management. But the team failure is in roster construction, coordination, injuries, and youth at key positions along with coaching.

issue with hiring Wilks

1. This is an offense driven league... see this past monday.... and all the rules that have been implemented to cater to the offense.

2. He is trying to install a scheme that we dont have the players for... this league is quickly becoming about adapting to the players you have and catering to their skills not being a dictator and forcing your way as the way to win.

Two is more valid than one in my opinion.

The only defense I've really seen slow down the Chiefs this season was the Cardinals we just have no where near the offensive firepower we'd need to make that payoff.

I really think the only reason we did ok against KC is because they were looking past us, not because we suddenly figured something out. Any team can win against any team under the right circumstances, I mean look at the raiders they beat us and weren't even trying LOL

I actually think they realized we weren’t going to catch them and they took their foot off the accelerator. I know people tell a story about being within one score in the fourth quarter, but it was never that close.

I wish more people saw or see this reality.

Strange that they didn't do this against any other team. Just coincidence I guess that they also scored their fewest points of the season. Surely the Cards couldn't have done something right.
