Steven Soderbergh may have his hands full with his upcoming projects, “Logan Lucky,” the TV movie “Mosaic” and producing the female-led “Ocean’s Eight,” but that doesn’t stop the filmmaker from making some time to read plays and watch a slew of TV series and films. As he did last year, Soderbergh listed everything he watched and read in 2016, as well as added his annual vinyl purchases, on his site Extension 765.
After starting the Showtime series “Billions” in 2015, it looks like he finished the first season and continued watching “The Americans” and “Mr. Robot.” It also seems as if Soderbergh didn’t jump on the bandwagon and watch “Stranger Things” and only watched one episode of HBO’s “Westworld.” Though, he did binge on “Black Mirror” and The Olympic Games.
Unlike in 2015, he finally got around to watching “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and also saw “Rogue One” on Christmas Day. Oscar contenders he viewed include “Fences,” “Arrival,” “Moonlight” and “Manchester by the Sea.”
