Just replayed it on ESPN. Man was that gruesome.

Did it look to you that he literally slipped while crossing home plate (because he was wearing plastic, rather than metal, spikes)?

If so, I hope all teams look into that.

Not really. Looked like a freak accident where his leg just suddenly and randomly gave out during a normal running gait.

After taking some time away from the injury I’ve finally got back on Twitter and want to share a few things. 1. Thank you to all of you who messaged me, tweeted at me, texted me, and just encouraged me. It meant a lot and it’s what got me through the dark days early.

2. This is not the end of my career I will promise you that. Not only did the surgery go perfectly, but there will not be a Stone left unturned from me in order to get back to full strength. With God at my side I will get through this and rest assured my best is yet to come.

Souza is the non-pitchers version of Shelby Miller. Decent guy but always coming up lame and injured. Will never play an entire season. Multiple trips to injured list. My vote is to pay him off and release him He was another Diamondback free agent mistake. Move on. If your best is yet to come let it be someplace else.
