stinking penalty's are killing us. i lost count at 10 and it seems nothing has changed from last year. they are drive killers and game changers, especially for us. we can't seem to over come penalty's. someone's number always keeps coming up like maybe "75"!!! :bang: sorry just venting...

There were a few questionable calls - like the roughing call on Kerry after THT hit him late. Or the phantom interference call on AJ in the end zone. Or at least one false-start call when the replay camera showed no motion.

I will not accept that we were penalized 10 times while they were only flagged 3 times. The penalty differential equalled 82 yards in their favor.

Other than one 1D, I can't recall us getting any call out of all the close ones.

The lock out and a new defensive coordintor with a new scheme may explain this. It can only get better with each game.

the interference call on Jefferson in the end zone was not phantom. The replay clearly showed that he grabbed a handful of the receivers jersey and help him back while the ball was in the air. He should have been called for the same on the interception. I'm fine with that if he is clearly beaten, but we can't complain about it.

Exactly, Joe---too bad because he was in position to make the play anyway. So---that's the good news.

Many of the penalties were ticky tack. 10 flags versus 3 is a huge discrepancy. The unsportsmanlike conduct flag seemed to have set the tone for the game. And let's not forget that that was not the only skirmish in the beginning of the game. Washington players were shoving our dudes around too. I was waiting (hoping) for them to get penalized later on. Nope. In addition, Timmy was the beneficiary of a couple of missed holding calls by the left side of his line.

He'll learn (hopefully). He was in position on that play and didn't need to touch the receiver's jersey.

I thought AJ played a decent game. I didn't see him get burned that often. For the most part, he was able to make the play on the ball. He had three passes defensed. Gaffney was getting his catches early on, but AJ adjusted and neutralized him after.

PP21 and our safties were the ones who got burned.

Penalities have been a historic problem for Whis's teams. I don't know why or how we can expect that to improve somehow. We're one of the most undisciplined units in the NFL.

What about when Kolb got hammered after the long pass to Fitz? Helmet to helmet and violent enough to knock his helmet off. The Cards were called for that last week on a much weaker hit.

Speaking of this, the announcers, who were definetely pro Redskins, in bragging about Hightowers running, showed a replay of one of his first down runs giving credit to a guard handling Dockett. The replay showed the guard on Docketts back with his arms wrapped around him. It was holding that didn't get called. The one idiot announcer kept talking about what a great play it was while the other suddenly went quiet when he noticed the obvious hold.

LOL I remember that. They showed in slo-mo how "great" of a block that was, when in fact it was the quintessential illegal holding technique.

I saw that exact same play and made the same comment. I thought it was more of a wrestling takedown move by the o-lineman on Dockett. The announcer was sure gushing over Timmy and the redskins and then you see the blatant hold right on the screen.

The caliber of player that Dockett is he just has to deal with a ton of that in every game.

Yoep. It was a good call in the endzone.

I disagree on the other - that should not have been called on the INT - the replay doesn't show that both players were playing hand slap on that. Replay looks as if AJ is grabbing the arm, but the WR was pushing away. Had nothing to do with the WR being able to catch the ball and at full speed.

But the endzone one was clear as day - you can see the jersey pull actually halt the receiver. Which is unfortunate, because AJ had good position on him.

Overall, I've been really impressed with AJ - he's in the right place usually (like Money Mike always is) and he's got his head turned and makes plays on the ball (like Money Mike never does).

AJ will get better. He's also getting picked on a lot, it looks like.

The annoucing performance was one of the worst that I've ever seen for a professional football contest. NFL on FOX is the absolute worst, from their terrible bottom line to their lack of game updates from around the league to their worthless halftime show.

Announcers were consistently wrong on their playcalls, including Tim Ryan's insistence that the Cards use a "Power running game" and that Daryn College is somehow expereinced in blocking it from his time in Green Bay (WTF?).
