From Sando's blog - comments about an interview Anquan Boldin had with Mike Jurecki. (I didn't hear the interview.)

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcwest/0-9-527/Boldin-opens-up-about-tradewinds.html

Boldin: So, I know of 15 teams that were willing to do exactly what it took to get me and make a trade happen. But the Cardinals were never specific about what they wanted. They only said if the right deal came along. But what is the right deal if you've never said it? But I never thought once that I'd be traded and I wasn't disappointed that it didn't happen.

Not stirring the pot, but he gets one last jab in there. Sort of like when I concede a point to my wife during an argument and directly follow it with a "but"......

That being said, he's entitled. Because I think despite this quote being ridiculous that his "Player friends" knew what a GM did/didn't do (as Sando pointed out), but we keep information that matches our expectations and discount the rest. It is human nature. I saw another report he spent some extra time signing autographs today. Good to see him back, so the occasional comment is fine by me!!

Fact is its hard to trade for a guy that is going to earn big bucks AND trade away several picks. Not for WR anyway IMO.

Old news, that until Boldin is traded or signed to a new contract, will always be around.

It wasnt stirring the pot but what Boldin said was so laughable about the whole 15 teams thing and how can a team make an offer if they didnt even know what the Cards wanted.

First he says he knows of 15 teams because he talked to players who talked to their GM. What GM is actually going to tell said player their real plans, knowing that all the players talk to each other and rumors become wild fire because of that, and what GM wouldnt tell said player "sure we would be interested", but said GM never says at what cost. Being interested and making it happen are two different things. Its like saying sure I would be interested in a new Prosche, but I dont have what it takes to make it happen.

Then Boldin said, "But what is the right deal if you've never said it". Um, does Boldin not know how an auction work. The auctioneer knows what the sellers price is set at and he wont sell it if the winning bid is under that amount, but the people bidding dont know this, its how you get the best price. You dont come out and say I will sell this item for $50 bucks, let the bidding start at $100.

Boldin didnt make a fuss and said mostly the right things in the end but those two statements were completely ridiculous.

LOL! I came up with the thread title because I thought by posting this, that I was stirrin' the pot!

Regarding Boldin or any other player for that matter - I am learning to listen less to what is said, and pay attention more to what is done.

That's all that matters.
