"Strange Magic" is a madcap fairy tale musical inspired by "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Popular songs from the past six decades help tell the tale of a colorful cast of goblins, elves, fairies and imps, and their hilarious misadventures sparked by the battle over a powerful potion. Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic, which created the CGI animation for 2011's Academy Award-winning film "Rango," bring to life the fanciful forest turned upside down with world-class animation and visual effects. Featuring a story by George Lucas.

This is getting killed in the reviews. Funny thing is Lucas did a good job keeping a lid on this movie. Even though it appears this movie isn't any good, Lucas did say he was gong to start working on projects he wanted to work on.

Maybe that is where Lucas lost it. Funny how the characters he created for kids in the new trilogy and some of those "kid" elements were some of the most horrid of the prequels. Yet his darker stuff was the stuff I enjoyed the most about the prequels.

The hits keep coming for him. Sad!

The critics killed this (18% on RT), but 50% of the people who watched it liked it.... and I am one of those. Certainly not great, but I thought the animation was very good, the use of old songs fun (yes, including ELO's "Strange Magic") and some fun adult humor was good (they even got a dick joke in there). Predictable story, but that's ok. 3 out of 5 for my wife and I.
