Thanks for taking WR Darius Heyward-Bey and passing on the top WR, Crabtree. Now we have to face him twice a year for the next several years. I hope he is the bust of all busts.

Crabtree will be good but will struggle to be consider a probowl player, he is no Larry Fitzgerald or ever will be IMO...best WR to me was Britt from Rutgers who went to I believe the Titans

but we will see, the Niner QBs won't exactly help out Crabtree and the guy does have a ego

As raw as DHB is, he does fit what the Raiders want to do with their passing game better than Lobsterbush. I can't really knock Cryptkeeper for that pick.

Another thing about this, there's been a lot of talk about Crabtree not wanting to be drafted by Oakland. Can't really say I blame him.

If Oakland hadn't reached on their choice at #7 I don't think there would have been the run on WR's ahead of the Cardinals which allowed Wells to drop to #31. I've been thanking the Raiders for doing something screwy which sent the draft board out of whack.

what receiver doesn't have an ego?
Charles Rogers
Peter Warrick

However Crabtree solely made Texas Tech's run into the ranking.
15 on the wonderlic

Who will he be?
Alex Smith scored a 40 on his wonderlic....wonderlics don't mean that much imo.

Crabtree is a stud guys. He will be. All he did was score TD's in college, even better than Fitz.

yet somehow he couldn't even run a 40 yard dash or do much of anything in his final bowl game.

40 times only truly matter to Al Davis.

I bet you that he would be the best receiver to come out since Fitz. (better than Calvin Johnson)

I'll put the +/- on TD's this year at 8 and take the over. You in?

A year before. How about $1,000,000 A$FN and dinner at the Chicago game?
Are these two separate bets? I am down for the 1,000,000 and winner buys pizza. That game is on my wedding anniversary. Wifey Mulli wants to go to the game as well!

One bet, two separate payouts. 2 different bets. However you like to look at it.

Okay, we can do the touchdown bet. 1 mill and pizza for the winner. How about a second bet with Shane H deciding at the end of the year if Crabtree is better than Calvin Johnson. :)

I am absolutely in. There is no way on earth he'll get that much IMO. He will also never be what CJ will IMO.

I think Crabtree will be a stud and I was pissed when I saw the 9ers got him. But i was temprered by the rest of the days event.

First we go Beanie. With no bias I say he will have a better year then Crabtree. And then they traded their second round pick which to me signifys they aren't really getting amped for this year even though the first will help them next year. That was a pick they needed to play this year and the still need oline and safety help big time.

And he will not be Fitz. He doesn't have the size. But he will be good. His hands, body control, and awareness too good. Top end he is Boldin. Which isn't all that bad obviously.

Hopefully he doesn't have a similar first game to what Q did...;)

Crabtree is going to struggle greatly his rookie year for many reasons.

1. He was never asked to actually run any routes in college. He was pretty much told to "run that way". That wont work in the NFL.
2. He was playing in an unorthodox system that put his numbers on steriods, system guys take longer to develop.
3. He is a fumbler
4. Doesnt know how to get seperation yet.
5. When he gets jammed at the line of scrimmage that will be the first time that has evey happened to him.
6. 49ers still have the worst pass blocking OL in football.

I say it takes him a year before he actually makes the impact of a #10 pick, but I think he will get there.

As prospects, Crabtree is nowhere close to Fitzgerald.

As a Cards fan I was sad to see the Niners grab Crabtree at #10. But if I were a Niner fan I'd have been extremely sad to see the Cards grab Wells at #31.
