Why is it guys like Billy Volek an undrafted QB and other late round guys find sucess (even on bad teams) and we still can't find one that can play? Can our Ol, lack of a running game & struggling WRs really be that bad?

Answer - There are ten other guys on the field who can make a QB look good or bad. And an OC who dials up the plays.
It's a group thing.

I will tell you exactly why. It is their scout team. They have been touted as being one of the best if not the very best in the NFL. SI and ESPN have done numerous stories about these guys and where they go to find these kids at. It is unreal.Reddog said:Why is it guys like Billy Volek an undrafted QB and other late round guys find sucess (even on bad teams) and we still can't find one that can play? The Titans O Line aint as potent as you claim. First off, the team had 9 starters out at kickoff, and lost another 3 during the game. 2 of those 3 were Fred Miller, and Justin Hartwig, both on the O line. That was an inexperienced O line that you watched Volek work with. Jacob Bell, who also started on the O line, is a rookie. And the Titans coaching staff has been hit hard too. Gunther Cunningham who was responsible for those great Titan D's you used to see went to KC. Then they added McGinnis who's done one heck of a job in screwing up our linebacking corps.shoe said:Without a doubt Volek has shown some nice talent at qb the last couple of years....but please take into account who the titans were playing Monday night before asking such questions on why we cant find these sort of players....the chiefs D is pitiful at best. Not to mention the talent level the titans have had on the oline for the last 7-8 years and a consistent and more than capable coaching staff during this span.....the titans have been perennial playofff contenders for a while......basically what im getting at is consistensy within the organization leads to better play....i.e brees had finally clicked in martys system which doesnt mean he can go light the league on fire next year with a simple switch by the person who signs his check......being comfortable and understanding what his coaches want is key.
Thank you!! Point made!! I do think McNair will be back, but not with the Titans. I think he will ask to be traded or released and go somewhere where he can win NOW!!!wallyburger said:I would disagree with the " behind a good O line " comment. That O line has beeb decimated by injuries this year and is the primary reason McNair is out for the rest of the year. Too many shots to the ribs. I recall Volek completing a few passes in the last 2 weeks with defenders hanging onto him and belting him on the release. Last week the commentators exclaimed on his uncanny accuracy while throwing in the face of blitzes and "hurries". I believe Mc Nair won't be back and Volek will for the Titans next year.
