I have fond memories of Camp Tontozona because it was a place where Frank Kush took the players to prepare for the season. It hardened the players as a team or some players just walked away. In many ways it was a boot camp for football players in a beautiful environment. I used to scan the newspapers for the slightest bit of information coming from there hoping top recruited players would hang tough.

As hard as completing Camp Tontozona could be on the players, I remember near the end of camp, the players would climb Mount Kush (whatever it is called) and the rookies I believe had to sing their high school fight songs. It seemed if a player could complete Camp Tontozona, it made preparation for the rest of the season appear easy.
