Well, I am officially jealous of ASU. I just went to Kona (the island of Hawai'i - the Big Island) this summer, but they'll be going to Honolulu on Oahu, right?

It's in Honolulu. ****!!!!!! This bowl game sucks. Hawaii is a very good team and are nearly unbeatable at home. Plus, we will lose money going to this bowl game. I know it sounds bad but not going wouldn't bother me one bit

This hurts the program. Can you just say "no" to a bowl.
Many people will not travel to this game. Terrible for ASU.
The only people watching are the die hards, and recruits. Great, the recruits can watch us get stomped.

I went to the Sun Bowl against Purdue.....much easier to travel to, and farther away from Christmas.
The Bowl Season is about rewarding the fans as much as the teams. I thought by now they'd eliminate the Aloha Bowls.

You can't say no to a bowl game, what will recruits think? This does not hurt the program. It might hurt financially in the sort term but playing in a bowl game is never bad for a program. Not only die hards and recruits will watch this game, every ASU fan will tune in. If you don't, then your not a fan

Where the hell do you get this stuff?? So, I'm no longer a fan because I don't care to watch this meaningless game??
Do tell me how it worked out the last time we went to Hawaii, with a lame duck coaching regime. The nation is going to get to see this program in a mess.....well actually nobody will, since nobody watches this bowl game. That's why it doesn't pay.

I definitely wouldn't consider you a fan if you don't watch the bowl game. I don't care if it's the Rose Bowl or the Aloha Bowl, if your a fan of your team you will watch.
We are in the process of making major and positive changes to the program. If you consider that "a mess" then don't tune in. Last I checked, the changes we're making have brought a lot of excitement around this program. Just cause you feel this way doesn't mean other real fans feel this way. And yes, I tuned into the last ASU bowl game in Hawaii. I WATCH EVERY BOWL GAME ASU PLAYS IN, thats what fans do

What he was saying was right on. I'm not sure why you are laughing? It's your choice to watch the game but I think his point is as a fan of the team, he will watch no matter what (Crappy coaching staff included). Think of it as an end of an Era! It can only get better right?
Hawaii is a great team. Look at their Qb's stats. They's only lost to Auburn and Boise. I think they beat ASU.

I meant for the players not ASU. You would think they'd get more money if they'd have to pay so much and also play a ranked team on the road when most bowls are on a neutral field. That's not really true. Since the conference divvies up all revenue from bowls it's all good. SC has it covered.

It is true. We will lose money by going to Hawaii. We would have made money if we went to either San Fran or Vegas.
The money we get from the conference is an entirely different story. SC will get the rest of the PAC a good chunk of change and will result in us getting a profit.

The problem
Thank god for USC, can you imagine what this conference would look like over the past five years without them? I really don't think there has been one Pac-10 school other than the Trojans that has consistently looked good from a national perspective.
