If this is based on player name search alone as it suggests, then no one should really be surprised. The Suns simply don't have any marquee, recognizable names on roster to the casual fan.

Not only that but since it was for the twelve month period that ended in April, I'm guessing that gambling and most especially playoff gambling prompted many of those searches. Since we were not in either playoffs and we were expected to follow-up one horrible season with another, this comes as no surprise.

Yea but neither does the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, and Orlando Magic really.

You also have to factor in international players and their level of popularity in their respective countries. Suns have Dragic who is probably googled a lot in Slovenia, but Slovenia is a small country.

This is meaningless in the big picture and just a sample of the current moment when the Suns lack stars and were expected to be bad.

I think the Suns have historically been one of those teams that is everyone's 2nd favorite team in other markets. If you think most NBA fans didn't love the Nash and Barkley era Suns, you're crazy. The Suns have never had a 'bad boys' type of team, they almost always play a fun, clean style.

Exactly. I was traveling in some very remote areas of the Philippines a few years ago (in schools). The kids would ask me where I was from and when I said "Phoenix" they would yell, "Steve Nash!!!!" They would then proceed to lick their fingers and mimic pushing their hair back behind their ears like a Steve Nash free throw ritual. He was every kid's hero there.

LOL

Andre Drummond surely is goodled at least twice as much as any of our players.

Orlando, Utah and Philly had the 3 best rookies.

And Denver has simply has not been irrelevant for 4 years.
