wow, who were those guys in the suns unis tonight.

this game was all about emotions. the suns wanted the win more then portland did and they did everything to get it done. amare, barbosa, marion and jj were great (heck i will even add jake in here, for his defense on zach and 8 boards).

tonight the shots were shared around marion had 15, jj 16 and amare 17, barbosa had 9 shots where you are moving the ball around that much it makes it very hard for another time to plan any type of real team defense agianst you. they would start to double amare and then marion would step up, dealing with amare and marion and then here comes jj. barbosa lighting it up from the outside. all i can say is give this team some time to grow together and then watch out some people are going to be shocked at what they can do.

Anyone else think that Wallace was being real freindly with the Suns Coaches after the game? Think he wants in?

The team played really well - as good tonight as they were bad on Tuesday.

I was thrilled to see JJ bounce back after playing so poorly on Tuesday. I think his most impressive play was his layup, because he went left. Most teams overplay to the right, so a right handed player who can go left is a serious threat.

One of Voskuhl's best games this season. He made some really agressive rebounds late in the game, which is something he has not been noted for in the past.

There have been some posts suggesting Barbosa is more of a shooting guard, but I liked the way he pushed the ball up and got into the offense quickly. After the game, JJ described Barbosa as a "pass first" point guard. I'm not sure that's true, but it sounded like a dig on Stephon anyway. :D

Perhaps the most interesting part of Amare's performance was not his great offense (10-17 for 22 points), but his 10 rebounds and 6 steals. I was concerned that he had not been rebounding all that well up to tonight, but maybe he is finally back at full strength.

The only fly in the ointment is the basic truth that the Blazers are not a top team without Wallace.

I would agree with JJ on this but I don't think he was trying to knock Steph. Barbosa just doesn't keep the ball for long...... doesn't dribble around as much as Steph did..... The team has to get used to the fast and somtimes unexpected passes of his. When they do, Barbosa's TO's will go down and his assists will go up.

I suspect the same thing will hold true when Carbakapa starts getting a lot of minutes. He knows what he is going to do before the ball is in his hands, so he is ready to shoot, drive or pass instantly -- so teammates will have to be ready.

I agree - it will get exciting when these guys learn to play (basketball) with each other:)

6 steals too!! Wow! massive game for Amare. 7 To's for Zach Randolph :) Were these two matched up on one another?

Zach was on Amare pretty much the entire time they were in together. Amare was on Zach for most of the 3rd period, and all Zach got on him was a offensive put back. Jake was on Zach for most of the game and did a decent job forcing him to take outside shots, but it was rather apparent Zach wanted no part of Amare and I was a little suprised Amare didn't see more time on him.

On a side note I was encouraged that when the Blazers went small the Suns stayed with a big line-up.

Playing Amare means the Suns can match up against a small ball lineup without actually being small. He is too quick for most big guys and too strong for most small guys. It has not taken very long for him to remind us why losing him was such a devestating blow to the Sun's.

I like how the Suns came out with patience and executing the offense. The defense still needs some work but overall I was very encouraged by the complete game tonight. When the Blazers made some runs the Suns were able to hold on and make some tough baskets.

You don't get local KTAR radio broadcasts but I've tried to listen on radio & watch on TV - Problem is the 2 - 3 second delay drives me nuts. I wonder, does that TIVO thing allow you to delay the broadcast by a few seconds? Has anyone tried that?

The problem is the radio needs to be delayed. With a DVR delaying the TV is easy enough but I am not sure how to delay the radio broadcast. With a PC it could be done. Some kind of audio capture software you could play off of a buffer? Not sure of an existing program like that.
I think the broadcast setup is messed up. I want to hear McCoy simulcast with the TV broadcast also.

You're right - I was thinking backwards:D

Maybe there's a market for a "little black box" .

Last night after the "teams" had retired to the locker rooms, Sheed seemed to be having a very animated discussion with Tim Grgrich (Phoenix's assistant coach, and former assistant of the Blazers). Then, Sheed followed Grgrich into Phoenix's locker room
