Not really surprising. I like Chandler. I've always liked Chandler, but he just can't play anymore.

It's the right thing to do if other teams have interest in Chandler and it's the right thing to do for the Suns.

If the Lakers add Chandler I wish they would waive Zubac. The Suns would be first in line in the waiver process.

So the Suns should have some money and a roster spot to add another player like Juwan Evans.

The Lakers owe us a favor. As I mentioned earlier I like Zubac if they waive him.

I sure hope we don't need that $13.5M expiring contract as a trade piece later this year.

I guess the Suns do not have any major move in their plans. Gambo is suggesting the buyout at around $10-11 million.

we have at least cut a lot of dead weight, Chandler, Knight, Chris and soon Bender...the problem is we added Ariza and Anderson.

How soon before we can jettison those two?

Ariza is an expiring (1-year) contract. He will likely be gone after the season.

Anderson will probably be bought out after the season.

Quite stupid signing at the time, and now we make a favour for Chandler instead of using his big expiring contract.

The Suns still have Ariza's contract ($15M) to use in trade and my guess is they likely will. He probably has some value to a playoff team.

Which is also great because it mean that we wasted away our cap space from last summer probably for a bunch of 2nd rounders.

This is likely one of the reasons McDonough is gone. The bright side is the Suns will have his salary space to use next summer. Also there is a possibility Ariza can be packaged in a trade for something useful.

There is no sugar coating it though. I'm not sure what McDonough was thinking.

Hopefully this means they have a plan and they know we won't need this contract in a trade.

Yes, that's something that you know for sure that in the 3 months you obviously won't get a reasonable offer that includes Chandler's contract.

It is a great job that we got rid of Chandler's big hostile expiring contract which will comfortably simplify front office job since it reduces the amount potential offers to be made and received.
