Phoenix Suns starting center Nick Richards was a late scratch for Friday's showdown against NBA East leader Cleveland with right calf tightness at PHX Arena.

Richards limped off the court after his pregame workout at the arena. He wasn't on the initial injury report Thursday or the one after Friday's morning shootaround.

Coming to Phoenix from Charlotte in a deal before the 2025 trade deadline, Richards is averaging 10.3 points and 9.1 rebounds this season.

Suns rookie Oso Ighodaro will get the start for Richards. Playing more as of late, Ighodaro is averaging 3.7 points and 3.4 rebounds in 49 games. He'll be making his third career start.

The Suns are also down Bradley Beal (left hamstring strain), Grayson Allen (left foot strain), Mason Plumlee (left quad strain) and Vasa Micic (illness), who is also a late scratch.

Beal has missed Phoenix's last two games and will be re-evaluated early next week. Allen has sat out the last five games for the Suns while Plumlee will sit a second straight game.
