The Suns will bring former
Miami Heat guard
Robert Hite, former Jackson State scoring star
Trey Johnson and Suns summer-league participant
Jiri Hubalek to their Sept. 30-Oct. 4 training camp in Tucson.
Hite, who is 6 feet 2 and played for the University of Miami, logged 12 appearances with the Heat in 2006-07 and shot 31.7 percent. He signed with New Jersey a year ago but was waived in October. Hite, 24, played last season in Turkey.
Johnson, 24, averaged 27.1 points for 2007
NCAA Tournament qualifier Jackson State. The 6-5 swingman was on Milwaukee's and Miami's summer teams the past two years and played professionally in Serbia.
Hubalek, 25, is a 6-11 rookie who went undrafted after averaging 12.4 points and 7.3 rebounds at Iowa State. The Czech is a good shooter who adapted well to a more physical game this summer.
With 13 Suns players under contract, the three camp invitees will have a tough time making the team. Rookie Sean Singletary is the only roster member with a partially guaranteed deal, which becomes a full guarantee if he makes the opening-night roster.
• Suns star Amaré Stoudemire recently hired Charles Grantham to be his agent, Grantham said.
