Suns Minny??

Now that Garnett is in Boston, Minny now wil have 16 or 17 players under contract for this season (a team can only carry 15). I say 16 or 17, because there are papers, especially in Boston stating that it is either...Ratliff, Telfair, Green, and Jefferson or they have added in Gomes in some reports as well.

So, either way, what do you think about a possibility to ease the Suns salary base and add talent. Send off Marion, maybe Banks and possibly Atlantas 08 pick to Minny for a package of players? Yes, I know Marion can opt out of his contract next summer, but that might be good for Minny anyways. Plus if we trade Marion to Minny, they can turn around and get a good package for him around the trade deadline if they chose to trade him off for younger players then.

Maybe get a package of Green, Hassell, Blount and Davis for Marion and Atlanta's 08 pick?

Maybe a different package to get at least Blount, Hassell and maybe Davis here at least if we trade off Marion. Something to strengthen our rotation a little deeper. Just a thought.

There's no way in hell I give up the Atlanta pick in this deal. Marion also doesn't want to go to Minnesota. There's no trade that makes any sense here. Blount makes too much money. The only player who would actually be helpful as a player and from a contract standpoint would be Ricky Davis, but only if we got added depth in the process to compliment the rest of the team and the offset of losing Marion.

Like I said once before on this board, I've wondered whether Banks for Trenton Hassell (nearly identical salaries) has ever been discussed. Now with Green, Brewer and Davis (and Jaric and Foye better off the ball), the Wolves are loaded on the wing, and once Hudson is bought out, the only true pg on the roster will be Telfair. Minnesota petitioned the league to declare it had Bird-rights over Banks so they could have signed him last summer but were denied, so there must have been some interest in keeping him long-term. It doesn't reduce our payroll, but Hassell fits far better here than Banks does.

it would be awesome if the suns got hassell, then we could hear about how he and marion went to the same high school 82 times a year instead of just 4.
