The trade rumors have already begun. Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic lists a few of them.

Here are a couple:

By Duane Rankin, Arizona Republic:

Durant to Rockets: Phoenix deals Durant to Houston for Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr., Reed Sheppard, Jock Landale — who played for the Suns in 2022-23 season — and two first-round picks.

Durant to Spurs: Phoenix trades Durant to San Antonio for Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson and four first-round picks.

Bobby Marks of ESPN talks about what changes the Suns may have to consider this offseason.

We’re not getting those things for KD. I could see Jabari and VanVleet plus one first from Houston. Definitely not four 1st rounders from San Antonio.

Those are Booker packages.

Yes, there is going to be a lot of talk. If Durant wants three years for $180 million, then good luck.

Which is why they should trade BOTH… one to Houston and the other to SA. With all those picks/young players we could be relevant within 5 years if we draft well enough.

Hell, this will seems blasphemous, but I’d actually adopt the Spurs or Houston as my second favorite team watching Booker try to win a chip with either team. People think I hate Booker and that he’s the problem. That’s far from the truth. I just think he’s too old and we are too screwed for the rest of his prime and that trading him is the solution to ever being relevant again in the next decade because of the bounty we could get in return.

I'd say yes to either deal as quick as i could before they could change their minds. The Spurs package is superior, but I'd have no qualms with the Rockets trade, assuming at least one of the 2 first round picks is our own back.

Agree... if either of those are on the table for Durant, I would jump on it before the phone call ended. Heck, if they could get both deals by sending Booker, I would do that in a heartbeat, too.

These are all silly one sided trades. 4 first rounders? Desmond Bane? Rankin must be on the Suns payroll for putting this silliness out there.

I’m not sure these are even packages for the current Booker.

I like the Rockets deal, I'm high on Jabari Smith Jr. However the San Antonio deal isn't appealing to me. I don't like Vassell and even though there's more picks, the quality won't be good.

It's a hedge against Wemby's health like @Cheesebeef mentioned. If there's long term issues with the blood clots (a la Chris Bosh), then those picks would be pretty juicy.

But, knowing Ishbia, we'd send them out or swap them out for more mediocre assets.

They are adding another lottery pick this year and even outside of Wemby they have a really good core with Castle, Sochan, Champagne or whatever his name is, and championship history. They'll always be a destination, see Fox and even CP3. Paul chose to play for Pop and tutor their youth instead of ring chasing. They're not a team that I'd bet against.

Don't disagree with anything you said. The picks are likely to be lower quality than Houstons, especially if getting our own picks back. It's worth mentioning though that Pop may be done with coaching after the stroke, so who knows how that impacts everything.

Spurs have Atlanta’s first rounders and a swap in 25/26/27. Those are the first rounders they’d need to send to us. And if KD can get us one or two of our picks back from Houston plus sone young talent, then you’re looking at multiple lotto picks from our own and Atlanta and multiple young pieces from Houston and SA.

Then, you’d have a stockpile of likely lotto picks, a couple nice young pieces and with KD/Book off the books, a lot of cap room within two years. With the right GM, a break here or two in one of those lotto’s, the future could look bright much much earlier than decade of doom projected by some here.

That’s the 7/10 split we can and probably nail this offseason, otherwise we are just prolonging the suffering to come.

With Houston and the Spurs, I’d push hard for Armon Thompson, salary filler and two picks 1 of ours, 1 of theirs for KD. As for Booker to the Spurs, if we got Stephon Castle and a couple picks (could even be all spurs picks) and filler, that would be great also.

That way we could move forward with an absolutely dynamite young, athletic, playmaking and DEFENSIVE backcourt of Castle/Thompson and four or five draft picks for Booker/KD, that would be great building blocks for the future.

What I fear we do? Trade KD to the Knicks bringing back Bridges, salary filler and no picks, which will basically make us a 25-35 win team from here to eternity.

these nba trade "scenarios" are worse than nfl mock drafts - purely masturbatory at this point - i have no clue who will go where when and for what - the seasons not over playoffs haven't even begun but everybody already knows we're desperate for draft picks and that we need to clear the books

this is why we need a new gm before we do anything - only thing we can do right away is fire bud and jj - other than that the only thing we should be doing is absolutely nothing

a solid plan is always ruined by additional planners - find someone competent and get the hell out of their way because our way isn't working

For some on the forum you can’t criticize Book, hold him accountable, suggest trading him or that makes you a hater. I love Book. I have gone to a ton of games in person just to watch Book. Have his jersey. Have a pair of his shoes. I would rather see him go somewhere else and win a title than see him waste the rest of his career on a middling team. Plus, if that can speed up our rebuild that’s a bonus.

Anything short of somehow landing a #1 that is exactly what I think will happen.

It sounds like there is a good chance Tyus Jones will be looking for better opportunities next season.

Tyus is a fine backup but no team will compete with him starting more than a handful of games. Ive always been a fan of his but he needs to realize and accept he's a backup if he hopes to see success in the NBA. It's too late for him to develop as a quality defender.

Both these deals will never happen. I’d be fine w Jabari, Reed s, and a first for KD.

I doubt ishbi has the juevos to trade book after this disaster of a season but he should. 4 R1’s, and a young player should be the return.

Beal won’t be bought out bc he won’t take a discounted buyout to sign elsewhere.

might as well bring back earl watson or Igor….or just keep bud cuz it won’t cost additional money. We’re in for a 5-6 year of no playoffs. Settle in

I understand Tyus being frustrated, as he took less money to play for Phoenix. Agree, he is not a starter for most teams.

You have to gut this team. KD, Booker and James Jones all have to be gone.

I think we have the highest payroll ever? The reality is we are now in the single worst position in the history of this franchise. At this point we need to do whatever we can just to dump salary and get whatever picks we can. The window is officially closed it’s full on rebuild mode.
