He's been injured this season.

The Grizzlies are interested in signing Jason Williams after he clears waivers. Too bad the Suns did not look at this option instead of Dowdell.

The Suns do not believe they need another ball handler on the court. Bringing in a point guard to actually play would take time away from Dragic in addition to reducing Hill's value to the team. I think they believe they have 3 point guards to play the game and all they need is a practice guard so they can rest Nash. Dowdell, given that, is our best choice.

Besides, no way Jason Williams would have come to Phoenix. We are no longer a destination of choice and, from now on, every time we go after a marginal FA and fail to get him we go one step further in educating the rest of the league about our pathetic future.

Dragic does not look much like a play making PG almost in the same manner Barbosa was not a true PG. I do not see Dragic holding up his end of the bargain being a backup to Nash. When Dragic is not playing well I would have liked the option to plug-in Jason Williams.

This may well be true. I wish Sarver would face reality. Instead, he thinks the Suns are a playoff team.

Yeah, that was scary to read. I can sort of understand his reasoning and I could even see a scenario or two where that might happen but two things come to mind. First off, it would require Carter, Warrick and Frye all coming to life and secondly, who cares. Who really cares if this group makes the playoffs?

I've never bought into the drivel that the Championship is all that matters. It's THE goal, no doubt, but there is so much more to the game than just winning the Finals despite what ESPN and others have tried to convince us of the past 30 years. However, you should be working towards the possibility of ultimately winning a championship and directing all your efforts to simply making the playoffs with an age-riddled talent-poor squad runs contrary to that goal and is extremely short sighted.

Last season the Suns made it to the WCFs. They have no such hope this season even if they somehow make the 8th seed. In past seasons at least the Suns had a go-to big man (Amare) and were fun to watch. And there was always the possibility, if the stars might aligned just right, there was a chance the Suns could go further no matter how remote. It takes at least two stars to win a championship and sadly all the Suns have now is an aging star in Steve Nash who they will grind into the ground. I really think Nash deserves better.
