Based on what James Jones said few days ago, this sounds like a signing more to help Crawford get on an NBA roster than anything else. Jones said him and Crawford are close personal friends so he could just be doing his friend a favor with this signing.

good lord, I hope that's not true.

and I think y'all should get used to the idea that he's going to be the starting PG soon. I don't see him playing behind the complete drek we have at that position.

Looking at the cuts and possible trade of Reed the Suns are looking for help. I think Crawford adds something to the team.

As a one-year interim solution at Point Guard, I like the idea of Crawford's experience with our young backcourt. Apparently he has some good passing skills.

As far as his horrible defense (and it's unfortunate this has to be the better choice), I guess we'll have to follow the D'Antoni philosophy of just score more than your opponents.

I can't believe I just posted that. The lesser of the evils.

And his age makes it obvious that he is just a stop-gap.

At least Jones accomplished what his predecessor couldn't to bring in a veteran for our young backcourt.

In my opinion, this is something that I could see McD doing if he wasn't fired.

I just had the most bizarre thought.

James Jones suggests Jamal Crawford.
McD pretty much laughs at him.
McD gets fired.
James Jones signs Jamal Crawford.

If this is the case, the Suns could have saved themselves a lot of hurt by rehiring D'Antoni. The grass is not always greener.

At least the Suns have Ayton and hopefully Kokoskov brings the promise of a more balanced team.

Crawford has obviously nothing to do with the Suns' gloring hole at PG.

He is an undersized SG, who still kept remarkable athleticism, ball-handling and long-range shooting from his best days. He definitely needs to cut his contested long 2P-s, though.

He might even represent a slight upgrade in the guard-rotation, which is not saying much.

Whew! I don't ever want to see Mike D'Antoni back on the Suns. :thumbdown

You don't want to see 7 man rotations and a stagnant offense around Booker pounding the ball and taking his man every single possession?

Fun fact: Deandre Ayton was 2 years old when Crawford entered the league.

I agree. It speaks more to a lack of talent at the guard position of course excluding Booker.

Bridges needs to be a success.

I like the signing. I see a lot of vets in our young players, to learn from and they kind of play the same.
Ayton has Chandler
Bridges has Ariza
JJ has Crawford
Bender has Anderson

If this is the signing that got McD fired, Sarver is a lot worse than I thought.

Exactly how does this help one of the worst defensive teams in the league?

And what exactly will Booker learn from Crawford? How to score more and play less Defense?

This signing reeks of Sarver and makes no sense. But I repeat myself.

Would you rather those minutes go to the likes of Shaq Harrison, Isaiah Canaan and Davon Reed?

Is there any substance to the idea that this had anything to do with Ryan's firing?
