well i just got back from the game. a couple things from the game. talked to the coach and rex and asked them to pass on to cotton that we are thinking of him and he is in our prayers. also talked to the coach about q and they are still waiting on him and hearing back from the clippers. he seemed to really like q and what he could do for this team. he stated that if we got him we would be looking at sign robert trayler to add a big to the team. and if we didnt that we would be looking hard at ostertag or another big like him.

now to the game. barbosa has developed a nice little mid range flotter that he can use very well. he really is coming along nicely.

vroman is a player i think you will all end up liking just because he plays hard and smart. he isnt scared of contact or getting on the ground. he boxes out well and passes very well. also i believe he got atleast 3 steals. 2 of them in back to back plays, that lead to fast brake points.

wow what do you know lampe can dunk the ball. this was the first time that i can think of him ever dunking the ball in a game. he is playing position defense and seem to understand that he shouldnt be outside the 3 point line a little better. i think that he will get some time this year (maybe 10 to 15) and by the end of the season will have made some big improvements.

no one else really really made an impact that i saw.

I don't like the Tractor Traylor idea though. Houston is still looking for a point guard, I would think we could talk them into Eisley for Weatherspoon. Spoon is on the last year of his contract, just have to hope that all the other point guards on the market are swallowed up.

I watched Lampe in practice dunk and he is tall enough to do it without hardly jumping. Maybe if he really accepted that he is playing center...

How did Casey do?

The information about Ostertag is news. I have been thinking that Tag is waiting around until the deal is decided on Q before he makes a decision since there aren't that many teams beating down his door.

How can you not like Traylor for the vet. minimum.

It is no risk, decent chance of gain deal. Imagine Jahadi, but for 6 million less.

I'm guessing they might do Traylor before they know either way with Q. It would give them more leverage if they did decide to go after Ostertag later on.

i can't stand ostertag. if we drop some big coin on him i'll be deflated even further by this offseason (no tmac, no kobe, and matched q will suck). i'd take a flyer on traylor. he's always been talented, just fat. i'm fat too.

CJ - 19 pts
Barbosa - 16 pts
Lampe - between 10 and 15 pts (not sure exactly how much)

The game recap shows Barbosa with 16 assists....... can anyone confirm this?

Edit: nevermind, the person writing the recap has no clue.......lots of mis-information and sentences that don't make sense. here's a link to the boxscore:

i can say i know that he had some good assists but i would be shocked if it there were 16 total team assists for the suns.

scotsman13,
I take it you mean D'Antoni when you say coach?
I do not think he is coaching the team right?
He was just there I guess.

I am not sure you would have been able to talk to all the coaches the suns have had in the past, D'Antoni seems to be very cordial and helpful in talking about the team. I always thought FJ had a canned answer for everything.

Thanks for the report........

Was this on tv?

yea i talked with d'antoni.
iveroni was coaching the game for the suns.
right behind the suns bench there is a walk way then 2 rolls of benchs saved for the team. for the suns rex champman, dick van arsdale, d'antoni and bc were there, also i believe that mark west was there sitting off to the side (didnt talk to him). there may have been a number of other suns people but you wouldnt know them by name or face. (larry bird was behind one of the basket, with a couple policemen behind to keep anyone away). i sat right behind the second bench so i walked down to talk to rex after the first quarter. and coach d'antoni at the end of the first half.

the last 2 years i didnt get a change to talk to anyone beside gooden, (who i sat about 5 feet from who was having a bad case of amareititis 2 years ago).

no the game wont be on tv.

One thing that stuck out on the box score was that Lampe went to the line 10 times. Did this mean he was more agressive about going to the basket?

The box score said Barbosa had 6 assists, which is going in the right direction. Of course, this is not a terribly impressive team they played.

Has anyone heard what the status of Wright's bunyon operation was? The early reports was that he was the only non roster guy who had shown much.
