Marks the first time J-Chill will be in rotation after a long long time. :)Unfortunately Morris is out with the flu so Warrick will play

Denver playing Orlando right now (no Howard) AND Houston plays Indiana so if those Eastern teams can win today then Suns won't be too far back in the playoff race if they take care of business today against the Hornets.

New Orleans on second night of back to back after barely losing to the Lakers despite not having Ariza, Kaman, Gordon, Landry, and Okafor.

Hornets playing 5th road game in 7 days....Suns had 3 days off...:D

Earlier in the season the Suns lost some games like this so the Suns letting up is always a concern. However, I must admit, making the playoffs is not my primary objective. The Suns need a lottery pick more than the playoffs. I do like to watch them win though.

Here is the projected starting lineups per Paul Coro at azcentral dated 4-1-12. Arizona time tip off is 6PM.

Hornets (13-29) at Suns (25-26) ... 6 p.m. tip

C: Marcin Gortat … Jason Smith
PF: Channing Frye … Al-Farouq Aminu
SF: Jared Dudley … Lance Thomas
SG: Shannon Brown … Marco Belinelli
PG: Steve Nash … Jarrett Jack

Key Hornets injuries: Emeka Okafor (knee), Chris Kaman (ill), Jarrett Jack (ankle), Trevor Ariza (ankle), Gustavo Ayon (personal reasons) and Eric Gordon (knee) did not play Saturday.
Key Hornets reserves: Chris Johnson, Xavier Henry, Greivis Vasquez.

Aminu at PF? Damn that's small.

I think Hornets are getting Kaman and Ayon back tonight so one of them will probably start over Smith.

Yes, their projected starting lineup does not strike fear. However, if Kaman and Ayon return plus perhaps Gordon, they could be tough.

Childress seems to be playing well tonight considering.

Also, if the Suns are seriously considering a playoff run signing Aaron Brooks to a reasonable contract would help this cause. Telfair and Price are not doing it as backup PGs.

Missed this game but glad to tell from the box score that Shannon Brown continued playing well. If we can get a reliable 16 pts from him and JD every night, that would be huge.

What happened to Gortat tonight?

Gortat started off strong... he had 10-12pts in the 1st qtr & then they just stopped going to him. They also gave Lopez extra time because it was his birthday & also because he played well in the 2nd qtr. Pretty sure that Lopez scored all his points in the 2nd qtr... so we pretty much completely went away from our bigs in the 2nd half.

Does Childress suck? Every time I see him play, he plays well. He can't shoot very well, but his defense looks pretty good and he seems competent offensively.

No Childress is better than Redd but him and Price happened to bang Alvin Gentry's daughter when they were drunk after a big party and well Gentry obviously won't give them playing time unless he absolutely has to.

Ship Chili and Ronnie Price out of here. Dump them all, only keep Gortat and Redd. Also keep Hill and Nash if they accept realistic contracts. Sign Telfair for cheap and pay EJ to give him shooting classes starting yesterday. Keep Lopez and Dudley as backup players if we can't get anything good for them.

We need to start building a core, enough of the signing of mid level supporting players. I also would like Goran the Dragon back and never to see Aaron Brooks in a Suns jersey again.

OT: Chili only plays because Grant Hill is injured.
