The Suns meet the Mavericks in the Las Vegas summer league today at 1:30 p.m. Arizona time. It's on ESPN.

Fans will get a chance to see Dennis Smith Jr. in action for the Mavericks.

I'll be at the game. Excited to see how it goes. Dallas beat Chicago handily yesterday, and they boast DSJ and Yogi Ferrell in the backcourt. I think this could be a chance for our frontcourt to shine.

Both the Mavericks and Suns are undefeated at 1-0 each. :)

DSJ looked good last night, DAL looks to have gotten a steal. NY is probably going to end up regretting passing on him in the long run.

I'm hopeful of a few things:

First, I hope that Reed and Jackson log a ton of minutes guarding Smith (If not all the minutes). They both love getting a difficult assignment on D. Just another reason to love both of them. There's real potential that they are the best players' drafted in their round.

Second, I hope to see Chriss's head and heart in the game. Our regular season team needs a solid post presence on O. Chriss has all the tools to be that guy and be dominant at it. I'm not interested in seeing him shoot one 3 tonight. Yes, I know he can hit them, but we have guys that can do that. I want to see him embrace the Tim Duncan role of being a force in the paint with his low post prowess and kicking out to our shooters. Tim Duncan could hit three's too, but he knew it was his role to bang in the paint.

Third, I hope to see Bender get more and more confident with his role. He truly has Toni Kukoc type ability, but just needs to age into it. I don't want to see the guy just hit 3's. I want to see him grab the ball off the D glass and push the ball up the court hitting open teammates or finishing strong around the rim. I want to see him active on the O glass and getting cheap put backs. Every team needs a guy who will do all the little things to help you win. Most of those things don't have stats attached to them. I think Dragan has the goods to be that guy.

I can't believe that I'm actually enjoying watching the Summer League. I'm planning my whole day around it. The Suns are booming with potential and talent and have guys I can truly root for. I'm gonna enjoy the patient process of seeing these guys mature.

I like the way Bender is trying to play inside today. I'd like to see more of this rather than him just trying to shoot the 3 point shot.

Dennis Smith looks so good. He can shoot well even if guarded.

Josh Jackson is having a tough time early with his outside shot not falling.

So far Jackson hasn't shown why he was drafted 4th.

I think you guys are right, Marqueese simply doesn't give a crap about the summer league. Don't remember the last time I've seen a player THAT disinterested in playing.

They interviewed Watson and he admitted Chriss needs to get in better shape. Also called him out for not getting back quickly.

Chriss looks disinterested and just nearly got into a fight. He shouldn't play if this is the tone he is going to set for the other young guys. Very frustrating.

Chriss misses two dunks in a row. One was blocked. This should get his attention.

The announcers need to check their research because Mike james did sign a contract with us.

Jones Jr has no business guarding the opposing point guard.

Still can't believe he went 9th.

It's cause he blew his knee out not to long ago. Those little super freaky athletic guys usually don't have long careers. Sometimes there just to athletic for there own good.

Dallas played like they have been together for awhile, passing the ball and getting the open shot. Plus they played some good defense.
