Nobody has started this...........
Nets played last night and no Kidd, so we have an excellent chance to pick up a win.

Wow, Marion got a rebound on the perimeter with his quickness.!

I just noticed that Amare is starting out on Martin. That is the first time I have really seen the coaches put him on the toughest front court player.

It amazes me how great of form he (Lampe) has on his jump shot and then he misses badly.

Of course, we USED to say that about Joe Johnson.

I am happy for Stephon where he is.
I like Marbury, but I like our team better now.

Nice win for the Suns tonight. They still have a lot of work to do but they are getting better.

I know Jason Kidd is a big part of the Nets, but they did not look like a very good team last night without him. Perhaps their game in Denver the previous evening was the reason, but this is a team that has won 15 of their last 17 games. It is hard to believe.

Considering that Kenyon Martin is an all-star and he was totally dominated by Amare, what does that make Stoudemire?

D'Antoni should convince Lampe to get in closer to shoot until he is more comfortable playing. He is obviously tight and trying too hard. The best part of his game was his his hustle getting down court on the break and getting back. His defense looked decent and he blocked a shot. I'm not sure the Nets centers are much of test, but he looked OK.

Dice looked quite good on defense including time against Martin, but his offense is still not there yet. He did run a nice pick and roll that got him the foul line.

It was one of Voskuhl's best games. Jake like the other guys benefited from the relatively modest offensive skills of the Nets centers. Still he did not make a lot of stupid fouls and his defensive rotation was better than usual.

The Suns overall defense was very good - they held the Nets to 39.3% shooting and the Suns outrebounded the Nets by 13. The Suns forced 14 turnovers and had only 6 themselves.

Barbosa had another strong game where he had only 1 turnover. Even that turnover was not entirely his fault, he got caught in a trap and no one came to him to give him someone to pass to. His 3 steals were very important early in the game in helping th Suns stay even in the first quarter. His shooting was a t 50% including his three point shooting.

Marion started shooting jump shots again, but otherwise his game was pretty good including 9 rebounds and 2 steals - but he only got one free throw attempt which suggests he was not attacking the basket enough. On the plus side, he had 6 assists.

In any case, it is too bad that Kidd wasn't playing because it means that the Suns won't get any credit for beating a top team. :(

Equally impressive was the fact that he held Iverson to a 2-21 shooting, while he himself was 13-24 against one of the best defenders in the league.

On sportscenter they said that Iverson and Marbury banged their knee's together. I guess Iverson was hurt for most of the game.

Although, they also mentioned that his 2-21 was the worst performance shooting wise when a player has taken over 20 shots since like 1973.

They were pretty clear that Iverson was hurting and that his refusal to stop shooting was part of the reason the Sixers lost.

I think it is pretty obvious that Iverson has quit being a team player!

It's all about the D. The Suns clamped down hard and made everything difficult for NJ. There were a couple mental breakdowns, but for the most part, it was the best I've seen PHX play D in quite some while.

If PHX can play D like this all the time, then they're going to give everybody fits.

- BTW, I don't think I've ever seen a quicker defender than Barbosa. Your head needs to be on a swivel to see where this guy is.

If he can develop his playmaking, the sky's the limit for this kid.

- JJ was extremely aggressive, and looked like he and Amare were making a point to get something going. If Amare bogged down, he looked for JJ. And, vice-versa.

This team needs to feed off those two, and they need to be ready every night. Not bad having a duo who's total age is ~43 years.

- I can hardly wait for the off season. JC's financial situation looks MUCH better now that he has mega $$ flowing into the Diamondbacks. Tons of capspace with the Suns. It's the most critical off-season in Suns history.

The only game the Suns defense looked bad at was against the Kings, but they do that to most teams. The Suns need to be able to play man defense against teams that pass the ball well like the Kings. Their traps and double teams work great against teams like the Nets without Kidd. Still, the Suns rotations on defense seems to be getting better and JJ did a fantastic job against Kittles.

I'm not in that much hurry for the season to end. The Suns began their off season in January and are now trying to evaluate personnel for next year. As it is, they have more practice time now than they did during training camp.

On an interview prior to the Nets game, D'Antoni was asked bout Dice playing and Mike made it clear that they are evaluating him very closely. The assumption that the Suns will simply let him go may be premature although so far his play has not be exceptional.

If Dice can get his health back the Suns would be crazy to let him go. this guy could be a great player alongside Amare. It doesn't matter who is labeled "center" in the NBA. Karl Malone played power forward his entire career but the Jazz used him as thier primary post up option. Amare and Dice could be lethal feeding off of each others post and spot up talents. Plus the suns would have a great rebounding set of front court players in Dice, Amare and Marion. Of course, all of this is moot if Dice can't return to health.
