SUNS vs. SPURS playoff record. Suns own the Spurs…

In the past 11 seasons the Suns and Spurs have met in playoffs 6 times. That is amazing. I had no idea they had met that many times in the past decade. What’s even more amazing is that the Suns have been pretty dominant against the Spurs. I’m not sure what the record is like during the regular season over this period but clearly the Suns own the Spurs in the playoffs. What’s also interesting is that 5 of the 6 meetings were in the 1st round including this year. Based on history I'm liking the Suns chances against the Spurs even more.

2003 – Series in progress -- Suns win game one of first round match-up

2000 -- defeated San Antonio, 3-1, first round

1998 -- lost to San Antonio, 3-1, first round

1996 -- lost to San Antonio, 3-1, first round

1993 -- defeated San Antonio, 4-2, conference semifinals

1992 -- defeated San Antonio, 3-0, first round

another note: The spurs have lost EVERY series where they have lost in the first game. Dating back to the ABA days. That stat was all over teh SA papers today.

now if we can get the spurs players to believe they won't win we have it made! Don't count on it though, This is going to be one tough series.

It may get a lot easier, if there's anything to recent reports that the Admiral may not be able to play tomorrow. Kevin Willis has been suspended for that game, so the Admiral's absense would leave Duncan and Rose as their only legitimate power players. When Duncan or Rose goes to the bench, the Spurs would have to put in somebody like Danny Ferry or Steve Smith to play PF/C.

I just spoke to my high scholl friend from San Antonio and he mentioned that.
