I'm sorry to see Dowdell leave although I could see him returning at some future date. His injury must be serious enough for the Suns to go another direction. I'm glad the Suns realize they need three playable PGs on their roster.

Telfair must be looking pretty good. If he ever is going to develop as an NBA player, it would be here in our system. He has to be motivated, its his last and best shot.

They must be really confident with a current move or a future one.

Isn't Marcus Landry the younger brother of Carl Landry? He's got to be because that's one of the Suns favorite things to do (get the bad brother). Except Marcus is a 6'7 SF so this must just be for camp fodder because we seem to have plenty of wings already (Hill, Dudley, Pietrus for now). EDIT: Yes, he is Carl's brother... Shocker!

Apparently he was a D-League all-star last season... "During the stint that began with two games at the heavily-scouted D-League Showcase, Landry averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals while making 45 percent of his 31 attempts from beyond the arc. Landry, a 6-foot-7 second-year pro out of Wisconsin, played for both the Boston Celtics and New York Knicks last season and could be on the road back to the NBA soon if he's able to keep up his impressive three-point shooting. In nine games this month, Landry has connected on 48 percent of his 59 three-point attempts. A three-point specialist forward that can also rebound well for his position and play solid defense is quite the commodity at the D-League level and someone teams will be looking at when calling a player up to the NBA."

I'm glad the Suns invited him. Never know when the need might develop. Sorry Pietrus is taking up a roster spot.

Just re-read those Landry stats from the D-League... can they be right?... 31 3pt attempts in 2 all-star showcase games??? Sure he made 14 of them, but WOW sounds like a gunner! I guess it's an all-star game so I'll give him a break. Then he took 59 3pt attempts in 9 D-League games... not as bad, around 7 attempts per game (Channing Frye level) & made 48% of them (28).

Obviously those are small sample sizes so he needs to show he can hit those shots in NBA games that count against NBA defenders. If he can play decent defense & grab a few rebounds then that'll help him stick around. Has anyone seen him play in the D-League or College? Does he have good speed?

I wasn't particularity impressed with Dowdell, but the Suns could have conceivably kept him on the roster and added Price as the 15th player. It would have cost the Suns an extra $800K, but that's pocket change for most NBA teams. The Suns may still give him another look later on when he's healthy, but unfortunately for Dowdell he won't be getting paid in the meantime.

I really doubt they are going to carry 4 pg's.
