On Monday the Suns wrap up their three game trip at the Wizards in Washington, DC.

Wizards 2-8 have lost their last three games but all have been relatively close, under 10 points, to the 76ers, Celtics and Heat in that order.

Their two wins have come against the Timberwolves and Nets.

Suns 7-3 are coming off a 125-117 win in Indiana against the Pacers on Saturday after losing to the Pistons the previous night.

After the Pacers game the Suns come home for three games against the Hawks, Warriors and Pacers.

The game will be televised on FSAZ.

Start time is 5 p.m. Arizona time.

Really hope Devin doesn’t try to guard RDB. Mikal must be the primary on him.

Should be an easy win. But then again, Detroit should have been as well...

Bradley Beal has really lit it up in the 9 games he has played.

By Logan Newman, Arizona Sports:

Beal has averaged an insane 35 points over his nine games to go with 5.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 48.9% from the field and 38.6% from deep. He put up 60 points on Wednesday and 41 on Friday before not playing Saturday.

Looks like Cameron Payne and Jalen Smith will both miss the game.

Smith might as well just chill on the bench now. Kind of unlucky to go down with the injury and now the covid, maybe the covid was mostly him to blame. I wonder how much more we'll try to incorporate him into the rotation.

I'm hoping the Suns find a way to incorporate Smith into the rotation once he gets in shape because he looks to be an upgrade over Damian Jones and Frank Kaminsky. Also he provides athleticism that Saric can't provide. I can see nights where he would provide additional depth for the Suns at the 4/5.

He gives us the possibility of not getting eaten alive by guys like Sabonis when Ayton is on the bench. We need some length and athleticism at the big man position off the bench.

Jalen has the potential to give the Suns exactly what they need as a reserve 4/5. The primary issue as I see it, he needs to be strong enough to play with NBA big boys. I think he can be a pest because he has pretty much the whole package otherwise.

This comment by Jevon Carter gives insight into the Suns. They will go over scouting reports but their primary focus is on how they play. This is progress because if they play well, they should win on most nights.

From a Duane Rankin Arizona Republic article:

"This year, these two games, we've just been focusing on us," Suns guard Jevon Carter said. "We don't really go in focused on the other teams. We just go over their scout. Other than that, we just focus on ourselves and play our game. With the way we play and what we do, we're tough to beat. So if we just go out there and we produce and do our job, we're going to come out on top more times than not."

Before Jalen Smith was hurt, he was in the rotation for a couple games. He is a smart player, made some good decisions in his appearances. Without him, Saric is the b/u 4, where he struggles to keep up with more mobile and athletic 4's. Smith is a better matchup, and will only get better with experience.

Point Booker always a welcome sight.
If for no other reason to disagree with that, every minute that Book plays the point
takes time away from his minutes at his position, Shooting Guard. It plays right
into the hands of our opposition.

And if, on top of that, Book is guarding opposing Point Guards, it wears him down.

We shouldn't be the team to neutralize our own star.

It makes no sense for Devin Booker to be the backup Point Guard, as he was in
the last game for a lot of minutes. Luckily, it was a game we should have won.

You need to get your head out of the sand.

For some reason you don't think so, but Devin Booker does have PG skills whether you like it or not. And with no Cam Payne, Booker is easily our 2nd best Point Guard on the roster. And it doesn't "play into the hands of our opposition." Come on. Do you have such disrespect to Monty Williams that you think you know better about this point?
