Tonight was the first episode of Survivor Redemption Island and by the time it was over, I had tears of laughter. The tribal counsel had to be one of the funniest ever.

One of the best quotes in Survivor history was by Phillip the Federal Agent. He could not pronounce Francesca's name correctly and he then said "I have dryness in my mouth, I'm receiving treatment for it.":biglaugh:

Yeah that was a great debut because he was just so outrageous and you just knew he was going to blow the whole scheme and he did.

That was the best tribal council EVA!!!!

Glad that one chick was smart and did not play the idol. She is probably hating life right now though.

Phillip is amazing. You think people might get the hint this season and vote out Russell?

Why?

He is not much of a threat in the final. By the time he gets there the jury won't vote for him anyway.

Yeah in a sense he's the perfect ally he does all the dirty work, and then in the end you win because everyone hates him.

It's early but I kind of wish they had Rob and Russell playing for a separate prize as in winner of best veteran player or something. The way it is now they're both sort of running the show, and have the target on their back at the same time. It creates lots of intrigue which the show loves, but it sort of changes the whole dynamic of the show for me.

I like it somewhat, but I think in the first week to have 5-6 players on each team in a firm alliance talking about when we make it to 6 here's what happens is almost bad for the show they're playing the game too early?

I think the key is Redemption Island, it means both Russell and Rob know even with the target on their backs they won't necessarily go home so they're not even trying to lay low they're just taking over.

I had no idea special agents wear pink underware.

Would those be called tighty pinkies?

They are showing more of Rob's tribe despite Russell's tribe winning. But I pick Rob over Russell as he has matured since becoming a father!

Wow surprise last night, didn't see that coming.

Not surprised at the reaction though I always figured he was the classic bully.

Anybody still watching? What a bizarre episode last night. For those who missed it Philip the federal agent got mad about rice usage. There are essentially 2 divided tribes living together, the majority is voting off the minority. When they merged they each had a supply of rice so the minority tribe is now eating more rice because they have fewer people so the supply of rice is lasting. They figured we're getting voted off 1 by 1 anyways, why leave any rice. Philip is on the majority, they eat far less rice and then had a leak in their container and got maggots in some of their rice.

He went off on them about we should store the rice together etc and when Steve refused, he ranted so much that Steve called him crazy. Next thing you know Philip accused Steve of racism said when you say crazy you mean Nword.

then the woman on the minority tribe(3 left) stole Philips shorts off the laundry line and buried them because of his rant. And he went nuts again and then at Tribal Council accused Steve of stealing his shorts and again told Jeff it was racist. Jeff was in shock and did a great job fleshing it out to point out to Phil that he was clearly wrong.

But they still voted the woman who stole his shorts off and when she stood up to leave she said to Phil "well I guess you will NEVER find your shorts."

Hilarious.

It is a real bizarre season.

IMO, they should vote off Rob now

Totally agree with your spoiler.

the interesting thing is they just started the jury now and it looks like the way the numbers play out the tribe of 6 is going to wind up with more people at the end possibly the whole final 3 if they do that again.

Which brings up the interesting point that the jury will have less members of the dominant tribe on it.

So if the division is as clear as it looks on tv, the final voting show could be fascinating. And if just one of the guys from Redemption can make the final 3, they will probably win the jury vote.

Congrats to Rob, perfect strategy take the villiage idiot nobody likes and the weak player nobody respects to the final.

I don't know what was weirder, that Ralph voted for Phil, or that Ralph can't spell Phil (he wrote Phile).

Next season same thing 2 returning players and Redemption Island.

What a waste of a season. Why didn't CBS just give Rob the million and save everyone the trouble of spending 39 days.

I don't like the returning player angle - and redemption island was a bust. If they are going to do that, they need to give the person that comes back immunity in the first vote back.

Finished second :D

LOL

I did not think he would last a week. He was great TV though.

Crazy like a fox I guess.

I started to wonder if Phil would have some grand plan to sway the jury at the end but he just dug the hole deeper. I think he told 3 people straight out don't vote for me.

I don't like the returning players thing either as I said earlier, but I did like the Redemption angle if only because it gives a 2nd chance to the player who doesn't ever have a chance to get into the game because he got ganged up on early.

For example Rob said last night he felt all along "if they are willing to actually play with me I can win", I assume he meant becaues the prior time he was on they just ganged up on him to get him out early.

even with new players there seems to be that awareness now pretty early on that guy/girl is really dangerous we should get them out now when we still can. So RI gives that person a second chance.

I think they felt the format was getting stale so they're looking to shake it up.

I would prefer all new players though.

Agreed, Boston Rob definitely deserved it. If he started on the other team, he would of been kicked out like Russell. He got lucky and was able to control a bunch of inferior players. Those girls will look back and realize how dumb they were.

I also agree with Russell when he told Steve it was a dumb move on him and the team that they threw the competition to get rid him. They had numbers and once Russell left, the team started to lose. I liked how Russell called Steve out by calling him a professional football player who quit.
