HOLLYWOOD, Calif. –
People magazine is reporting that one of Hollywood's most enduring relationships has ended. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins have broken up after more than two decades together, according to a Sarandon rep sourced by People.
Of interest is that this news is apparently long in coming. The rep reports that the couple actually split up over the summer.
Sarandon and Robbins had been together since 1988 after meeting while filming "Bull Durham." The New York City-based couple have two now-college-age sons, Jack Henry and Miles Guthrie. Sarandon and Robbins made numerous appearances together to support international social and political causes.
If People's reporting checks out, this marks one of two prominent Hollywood couples that had long stood as symbols of non-marriage relationships standing the test of time. The other is Goldie Hawn's relationship with actor Kurt Russell.
Hawn and Russell have been together since 1983, after meeting again on the set of "Swing Shift." The two had previously worked together while filming 1968's "The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band."
