I didn't watch the Summer league so I have no idea what this guy is talking about.lol

T.J. Warren: Is there cause for concern?

Warren was only consistently effective in the paint, attempting few threes. Those threes he did take, he shot poorly. This trend continued in Summer League as he missed all four of his attempts from deep over the course of the tourney.
*Oddly, Tucker’s summer misdeeds open the door for Warren to get some early playing time in Phoenix, as P.J. is suspended for the first five games for an offseason DUI.
Warren’s status as a mid-first round pick — and greater offensive creativity — probably mean he won’t require quite that much of a Carmen Sandiego approach to a lengthy NBA career. However, to really make an impact, he’s going to have to expand his game, either by becoming a lock down defender, a knock down three-point shooter, or both.

PJ's suspension is three games. Not five as reported above.

After watching him in SL, Id' say he's comparible to Ceballas or Marion in the fact he has the knack to score easily around the hoop and got some quick hops. If he's shown considerable minutes he might be our leading scorer per game this season. Of course regular season competition might dispel that.

It's news that a rookie needs to improve his game? I must be missing something.

He is not a bad three point shooter when he has open looks. But last year at NC State he was the whole offense and often took contested threes, which lowered his average from distance. As a freshman, his shooting numbers were better.

This the classic sports guru problem of just looking at numbers on a page and thinking he knows the story. You have to look at those in context.

All TJ has to do is to shoot a decent average when he is left open at the three.

If Warren had a good 3 point shot he wouldn't of been available at #14.

Hopefully, it will come with time. If he can add that, the sky is the limit. The three looked pretty bad in summer league but his mid-range game is something else.
