ESPN's NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. has a new two-round mock draft live and you know we have to give it a look. The 2025 NFL draft is just over two weeks away and you are seeing lots of trends develop among mock drafts while a few picks and prospects remain polarizing among the pundts.
After poring over both rounds of Kiper's new mock draft, here are our big takeaways.
Even Kiper, who has been very pro-Sanders, has the former Colorado quarterback dropping to No. 9 and the New Orleans Saints.
Ok, technically, Travis Hunter was the No. 2 overall pick but he's a unique case if a team considers him a cornerback. Hunter is not the best wide receiver in this draft but Matthew Golden as the first pure receiver off the board to the Arizona Cardinals bucks the trend of the league overdrafting wide receiver.
Speaking of wide receivers, Denver landing Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan at No. 20 is the biggest bargain of the round. McMillan is Odell Beckham Jr. and Amari Cooper in their prime and a truly special player.
Dallas passing on basically the entire wide receiver class and going running back is a risky move. We love Omarion Hampton but going running back, then following it up with a cornerback in the second really stretched their wide receiver depth thin.
Kiper has several guys in his second round who we don't see making it out of the first, but mark it down: If the San Francisco 49ers get defensive tackle Kenneth Grant in the second round, they will be wholly praised by pundits for the value in that pick.
