I kid you not. Apparently, there's going to be a sequel

What's wrong with that? The trailer looks similar to the first movie, but who cares? Taken rocked! Anytime Liam Neeson gets to beat up a bunch of bad guys is a great time.

Because it was a perfect one off movie, and I don't need to see the same movie over again? Same reason Hangover II sucked balls.

Understood, but hangover 2 was a comedy that just recycled jokes. A little different than seeing Liam Neeson kick the crap out of more guys. Repetitive? Maybe. But worth watching IMO.

Who'd be crazy enough to steal his kid again after the first one?

It's different this time. This time - he gets taken. Duh. :D

In Istanbul, retired CIA operative Bryan Mills and his wife are taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter.

man, I thought Taken was really overrated. It was decent, but if you want a serious, gritty, violent man on a mission/kidnapping movie, give me Man On Fire any day of the week over Taken.

Neeson kicked more as in Darkman then Taken. JMO.

I really liked the first one. I think it's cool there is a sequel.

This. I loved Taken but Man on Fire is way better.

I'm watching the original even though it's on TV and we own the DVD and have a digital copy. Just can't change the channel.

I'm with Chap on this one. I'm looking forward to the character Bryan Mills using his particular set of skills on future bad guys. I see it no differently than looking forward to another Die Hard film because of the character John McClane.

I went and checked because I was thinking, can it be true, BIM got BIMed at a movie reference of all things?

But sadly..

http://www.imdb.com/character/ch0001752/

:D

I was tired last night which is probably why I overlooked that I typed it "MCClane" the first time. Love that Ken corrected that incorrectly. IMHO MCCLane still spells McClane ... so it's all good.
