I love the guy he's done wonders at Cal but I really gotta wonder what the hell he's doing punting to Maurice Drew when he nearly scored on a PR earlier in the game? Cal had major kick coverage problems against UA the prior game, Drew is as dangerous a PR as there is, and he punts to him?

They said in the postgame they tried to kick away from him but it sure didn't look like it.

Forsett and Lynch were awesome, the way Lynch delivers blows while running on a sore knee with a cast on one hand is amazing. But Ayoob is still way too inconsistent.

I also didn't like how tedford ended the game, after the pick I felt Cal should have just let UCLA score right away and kick the XP to go up 8, then Cal has more time to get the ball back and score a TD and go for 2?

Interesting anecdote, one of the key plays of the game was a fake punt on 4th and 2 UCLA ran for a first down. Turns out Cal had only 10 players on the field and yep the missing guy's job was the hole the guy ran through for the first down. TEdford said that the bench was yelling "get back" at the players on the sideline to stay off the field and the 11th player heard it and assumed they were yelling at him, so he stayed on the sideline. Tough way to lose a ballgame.

he also addressed the issue of why didn't he let UCLA score on purpose saying he thought the best chance was to try and force a fumble, I still disagree.

Maybe we could get Kyle Boller in the off-season; between he and Arrington, they'd surely both vie for comeback player of the year!

He has but I don't know if he wants to be or not. Early on he was the OC candidate you heard a lot but he's done so well as HC at Cal people now think maybe he'll want to be more than a coordinator.

The guy is really good but will it translate to the NFL, who knows.

It's frustrating to watch them this year they will run plays that are so perfectly crafted you can't believe how wide open the WR or the TE gets, and then Ayoob misses the guy by 10 yards. Based on what I saw in the opener on tape if Longshore hadn't gotten hurt and was still the QB they'd have beaten UCLA and would be a much better team. he's not a great QB but he can hit the open man consistently and Ayoob can't. DeSean Jackson has had at least 5 wide open TDs' on deep routes where Ayoob didn't even come close. I don't know how the kid was a JUCO all american he's the most inconsistent QB I can recall at Cal ever. He makes Boller look like Joe Montana.
