Bad news, I heard from a source that I completely trust that Anquan went in to have his knee looked at, and that he has developed an infection, and is out for the year. I am praying this is not true, but I am almost resigned to the fact, knowing the source that he is gone for the year. Again, if this news indeed is wrong, I apologize, but I figured everybody would prefer to know......

IF true we need to seriously take a look at our medical staff. From trainers to the surgeons.

If you ranked injuries, surgeries and recovery fom surgeries we rank last in the NFL.

Not being a doctor, I have to ask this. Why would an infection increase the length of his rehab? Since he's going to be out till October anyway, why wouldn't they be able to treat that infection and cure it in that amount of time also? As far as I know, an infection can be cured a lot quicker than a torn tendon.

It's pretty simple... your body's immune system attacks the infection, and any tissue with the infection. Since the infection is in the tissue he had surgery on, that is being attacked. Therefore it will not heal properly, and will most likely require a follow up cleanup surgery. Add much more time to the time it takes to heal.

The center for the University of Iowa (Brian Frenz (sp?)) had a staph infection as a result of knee surgery and was supposed to not even see the field this year. He healed quicker than expected and might play.

If this is the case I would be more worried about Q's life than playing football.

Infections of any type due to surgery can be deadly...!!! Let us all hope that this is an unfounded rumor and Q is OK.

I hate your source.

:hulk:

We are not going to win many games anyway. Even if he comes back we would be lucky to add one victory. He would miss a year of experience which is no small thing.

Being one who figured he was going to be out for the year anyways, I'm not melting down. I'm pretty sure we have two 1st round draft picks at the WR position that will help replace Anquan.
