A handful of players have become popular selections for the Houston Texans have been built around the offensive line. Ohio State's Josh Simmons, Oregon's Josh Conerly Jr. and North Dakota State's Grey Zabel have all be names as of late entering the mix.

Last week NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said the Texans were fully invested in drafting an offensive lineman at No. 25 and were likely interested in the "Lawfirm of [Tyler] Booker and [Kelvin] Banks," signaling the two SEC stars could be strapping it up at NRG Stadium in 2025.

During his conference call on Friday, Jeremiah offered up the thought of Ohio State's Donovan Jackson being in the same range as both Booker or Banks for the Texans at No. 25. Jeremiah would take both over the All-American offensive lineman if he were Nick Caerio.

There's only one problem; Jeremiah thinks both players will be well gone before the Texans are on the clock.

"I think that decision would be made for them. It might be a situation where they're both off the board at that point in time," Jeremiah said. "I would think a guy like Donovan Jackson could enter into their mix as a possibility there for one of those selections. It just feels like offensive line, and those are the two names that I had heard connected to them that they really, really liked."

Booker and Banks, two projected first-round picks after promising seasons, have been linked to the Texans since the start of the pre-draft process. As an Alabama alum, DeMeco Ryans has coveted players from the SEC over his past two seasons, including drafting defensive end Will Anderson at No. 3 in 2023 and cornerback Kamari Lassiter at No. 42 in 2024.

Similar to what several #NFL sources have said: Both Kelvin Banks and Tyler Booker likely off board by #Texans current slot at No. 25 overall, here's Daniel Jeremiah @MoveTheSticks on the two highly-graded offensive linemen and Donovan Jackson @OhioStateFB

Jackson, who started at both left tackle and left guard during his final season in Columbus, offers position flexibility on the offensive line. Thay would help Houston collectively build an offensive unit surrounding its five best players.

Jackson, who chose Ohio State over Texas and Stanford coming out of Episcopal High School, might be better suited at guard, but he held his own in 11 games at left tackle en route to the Buckeyes' first national championship in 10 years.

Jeremiah doesn't view Jackson as a bad pickup, but rather one that might be locked in as the lone option left. Mocks recently have Banks landing in the top 15, with some believing he'll be in play for the Chicago Bears or San Francisco 49ers. Jeremiah said in his final rankings, the All-American and Houston native will fall in his top 20 prospects.

"I think he was my 19th player at that point in time," Jeremiah said. "He's a solid player. I just wish he strained to finish a little bit more. Booker to me is a little more physical, has a little more edge to him. Obviously you are talking tackle versus guard. Pure grade-wise, I had Booker over him, but I don't know that there's a wrong answer there. I think they're both immediate upgrades."

#OSU OL Donovan Jackson played tackle down the stretch for the Buckeyes but I particularly liked his ability to climb to the 2nd level as a guard and his recovery ability if he initially lost a rep. Holds a firm anchor against interior DL too. I view him as a guard longterm. pic.twitter.com/bQVkqIStB4
