Could the Houston Texans actually land the top-ranked wide receiver prospect with the 25th overall pick?
Well, that depends on two questions. First, is Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan the top pass-catcher entering the final stages of the draft on most boards? The second is which mock draft you are reading.
In the latest three-round mock from ESPN's Field Yates and Mel Kiper Jr., McMillian takes a draft-day tumble, falling behind Texas' Matthew Golden and Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka. With the Texans looking to bring in another receiving threat for C.J. Stroud, the wait ends here as McMillian becomes the new target on the outside for the two-time defending AFC South champions.
McMillan's 6-foot-5 frame and sure-fire hands could make him a steal for the Texans' offense entering 2025. Last season as the No. 1 weapon for the Wildcats, he caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards and 8 TDs. Consistency is key too, as McMillan's 1,402 receiving yards and 10 TDs ranked top-five among all Pac-12 targets.
The Texans weren't done yet. With their second pick, Kiper has Houston shoring up the interior offensive line with NC State's Anthony Belton, who could even compete for reps at right or left tackle with Cam Robinson and Tytus Howard.
In Round 3, Houston owns two picks with two more significant needs. At No. 79, the Texans lock up a long-term interior offensive line with the selection of Georgia's Jared Wilson, who happened to grade out at Kiper's top-ranked center. His arrival could allow Jarrett Patterson to compete for first-team reps at guard, thus stabilizing the offensive line further.
At pick No. 89, the Texans add another name to the defensive line with the selection of Nebraska's Ty Robinson. The second-team All-Big Ten defensive tackle is considered one of the better run defenders, but drastically improved as a pass-rusher in 2024.

"The wait ends for McMillan," Yate wrote. "He's not blazing fast, but he wins with an excellent catch radius, strong hands and very good routes. The Texans must hit receiver and offensive line hard in the draft, and I like the fit of McMillan joining Nico Collins, Christian Kirk and eventually Tank Dell (knee)."

"We obviously can't go two rounds without any offensive line reinforcements for Houston," Kiper wrote. "The team gave up 54 sacks last season and made a bunch of big changes this offseason -- but there are still holes. Belton played left tackle in college but has the versatility to fit in wherever the Texans need him."

"The powerful and disruptive Robinson will help the Texans' trenches on defense," Yates wrote. "He broke out in 2024 with seven sacks and 15 tackles for loss."
