In his latest 2025 NFL mock draft, Fox Sports' Jason McIntyre has the Houston Texans selecting a fan favorite at pick No. 25 to serve as the new Laremy Tunsil for the long haul blocking for C.J. Stroud.
McIntyre has the Texans targeting Ohio State offensive tackle Josh Simmons 25th overall in the first round. The 6-foot-6 tackle was the third tackle taken, trailing LSU's Will Campbell (No. 9) and Texas' Kelvin Banks (No. 10), while breakout combine star Armand Membou from Missouri landed a pick later at No. 26 with the Los Angeles Rams.
While McIntyre raises a point about Simmons's move back to right tackle, most view him as the best pure left tackle in the class. If not for a season-ending lower-body injury suffered in early October, Simmons would have likely been the top offensive lineman in the class.
If Simmons moved back to right tackle, there still would be a long-term hole on the left side following the Tunsil trade. While Houston added Cam Robinson and Trent Brown to one-year deals, they're simply stop gaps for a season rather than a long-term answer.
McIntryre might be right about the Texans adding Simmons, but he's likely wrong about which side of the line he'll start on. The Texans hold seven picks in this year's draft, which will be held from April 24 to 26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

"He was limited to six games due to a knee injury, but him falling here is a big win for the Texans," McIntyre wrote. "He will start from Day 1 at RT in Houston."
