Texas A&M's 2025 Maroon & White spring game is set for Saturday afternoon. The 2025 Aggie roster, at least at this stage, will take the field for a live scrimmage for the final time this spring, and the fan base will get to see what head coach Mike Elko and his staff have worked on over the last month of practice.
Two of Texas A&M's three captains, junior linebacker Taurean York and senior left tackle Trey Zuhn, picked their rosters. York and running back coach Trooper Taylor will lead the Maroon team. In contrast, Zuhn and cornerbacks coach Jordan Peterson will lead the White team. On Friday, Texas A&M's media team released the rosters for both teams, including the starting quarterbacks.
Starting QB Marcel Reed will lead the Maroon team with sophomore running back Rueben Owens in the backfield. At the same time, the top three receiving options are wide receivers Mario Craver, Ashton Bethel-Roman, and KC Concepcion. For the Aggie fans unfamiliar with Texas A&M's likely backup QB Jacob Zeno, he will make his A&M debut as the White team's starter, with RB Amari Daniels in the backfield, throwing to Izaiah Williams, Terry Bussey, and freshman Kelshaun Johnson.
Defensively, several transfer portal additions will make their debuts, including former Iowa State DL Tyler Onyedim, former Florida DL TJ Searcy, and several other future contributors.
As Mike Elko stated this week, this is just another scrimmage that won't reveal much, but is another opportunity for Marcel Reed to show his improvement in the pocket, while Jacob Zeno and Miles O'Neill are battling for the backup spot, giving both players another chance to show off their arm talent.
Texas A&M's Maroon & White spring game will be held at Kyle Field on Saturday, April 19. It will be streamed on SEC Network+.
