Texas A&M's spring football season has begun, as Thursday's first on-field practice of the year has come and gone. Head coach Mike Elko is looking to make strides during his second season at the helm, which starts and ends with starting quarterback Marcel Reed improving as a pocket passer.
The spring season also serves as a time to host prospects from the 2026 and 2027 recruiting cycles, which, as I reported this week, includes over a dozen talented names that will descend on College Station, which is a good sign when competing with the likes of Texas and nearly every of the 15 other SEC programs.
On Thursday, On3's Steve Wiltfong revealed that five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, the second-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, will be joined by four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who will choose between Oklahoma and Texas A&M on Saturday afternoon.
While Iheanacho isn't a favorite to land with the Aggies, Hatton is, which would be a significant commitment and the first running back in A&M's 2026 cycle. While early recruiting visits aren't definitive, having several five-star prospects at multiple position groups on campus during spring practices is certainly a great sign moving forward.
