No. 6 Texas A&M (25-4, 5-2 SEC) completes comeback to secure another Top 25 win, beating No. 24 Alabama (21-11, 1-3 SEC) 5-4 in Game 1 of the series at Davis Diamond.
The Aggies started slow, falling behind 1-0 early in the game. Despite loading the bases in the fourth inning with two outs, A&M was unable to capitalize, grounding out and stranding three runners. Alabama seized the opportunity, tallying three runs in the fifth inning to extend their lead to 4-1.
Coach Trisha Ford made a bold move in the bottom of the fifth, calling on freshman Frankie Vrazel as a pinch hitter—a decision that proved instrumental. Vrazel’s efforts set the stage for Koko Wooley's infield hit, bringing the Aggies within two runs. Sophomore pitcher Sidne Peters then delivered a crucial scoreless sixth inning, keeping A&M in striking distance.
The Aggie offense erupted in the bottom of the sixth, ignited by a solo home run from Mya Perez that trimmed Alabama’s lead to 4-3. Senior Mac Barbara delivered the defining moment of the night, crushing a two-run homer over the right field wall to give Texas A&M a 5-4 edge. Peters showed composure in the final frame, securing her seventh win of the season and the Aggies’ fifth SEC victory.
