For either Texas or Illinois, Monday afternoon will end up being Sweet.
The Texas and Illinois women's basketball teams are set to meet in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at 1 p.m. Monday's winner will advance to the Sweet 16 round. Texas (32-3) has reached the Sweet 16 in three of the past four seasons. Illinois (22-9) was last a Sweet 16 team in 1998.
Texas and Illinois have played three times before. Texas owns a 3-0 lead in a series that has been on a hiatus since December 2000.

One of the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament, Texas opened its 37th appearance in the NCAA Tournament with a 105-61 win over William & Mary on Saturday. Madison Booker played 27 minutes in the 44-point rout, but she still had a double-double performance that consisted of 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Illinois recorded a 66-57 win over Creighton this weekend. Led by Kendall Bostic's 12 points and 17 rebounds, the eighth-seeded Illini earned their first NCAA Tournament win since 2000.
