He already didWilks could threaten to burn the whole place down, but there is nothing left to burn.
Lmao was that the game that ended in a tie? I was 16 years old and think I remember that gameI'll never forget watching that MNF game against the Giants in 1983 and watching him miss a FG that I could have made with my left foot.
Omg, I do remember that game! Me and my Dad, may he RIP watched the entire game and were so pissed at that kicker. That game ended LATE.
it is odd they go IR vs just releasing him.
as a vet, his annual salary is guaranteed --
on IR, he is stuck with AZ and cant be brought back (not enough weeks to designate for return)
cut -- free to sign with another team, and who knows -- maybe some team going to the playoffs loses their kicker and wants a vet like Dawson

The folly of drafting kickers back then was college kickers used a tee. Very few were as good in the NFL as they were in college. Tony Franklin was one example. John Lee was very much the product of kicking off of a tee and we wasted a 2nd round pick on him."Then in practice a few days later, he mis-hit a field goal attempt and hit a teammate in the helmet."
I mean... come on. Screw the Pottsville Curse. We have to undo the Kicker Curse on this team! That sentence up there only happens in Adam Sandler movies!
I read in the book next man up that they are paid 66% of their salary (I think).
pretty certain vested veterans have their annual salary guaranteed if they are on the roster week 1.
