We're on. I'll send you the cash if I lose. I say McCown gets the nod.

MLive.com reports Josh McCown is losing ground fast to Jon Kitna in the battle for Detroit's starting quarterback job.
The report goes as far to say that McCown could have a battle for the backup job with second-year pro Dan Orlovsky. McCown wasn't known as a cerebral quarterback in Arizona and may be struggling with learning a new offense.

Jon Kitna is reportedly "separating himself" in offseason workouts from Josh McCown in the battle to be the Lions starting quarterback.
It's no surprise. Mike Martz's system requires a veteran's understanding of the game. McCown has physical tools but the biggest knock on him has been his head. It's painful to write, but Kitna will be a highly intriguing QB2 value pick with Martz on his side.

Lions | Kitna leading in QB competition

MLive.com reports Detroit Lions QB Jon Kitna is the leading candidate to become the team's starting quarterback after separating himself from QB Josh McCown during workouts. It is Kitna's job to lose, with QB Dan Orlovsky giving McCown a run for the No. 2 position.

Not to pile on, but I was listening to Colin Cowherd's radio show yesterday when he interviewed Lions receiver Mike Williams. According to Williams, Martz has given the team 20% of his playbook, and it is equivalent to the entire Lions playbook from last year. I wish Josh well, but he could be in for a struggle this year.
