When it's Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp season, the pitches aren't the only things that can go wild.

Triple-A baseball means the return of wacky promotions to VyStar Ballpark for the Jumbo Shrimp's new season.

Jacksonville's promotional calendar includes the normal (fireworks on Friday, thirsty Thursdays, the annual Splash Day on June 25 and Independence Day fireworks on July 4) and the not-so-normal.

There's music, spanning the spectrum to 2000s Throwback Night (June 4) to Polka Night (July 30). There's non-baseball sports (Pickleball, Aug. 16). Dogs (including Bluey at the Ballpark Night, June 29), cats, commemorative jerseys and lots of fireworks are also on the schedule.

Here's a look at 10 of the most entertaining, the most interesting or simply the weirdest promotions awaiting Jacksonville's International League fans in 2025.

April 11: Great White Shark Night

Looks like Scampi isn't the only marine life in the ballpark for this one. The ballpark celebrates 50 years since an unspecified but easy-to-guess shark movie.

April 26: Triassic Ballpark III: The Lost Ballpark

Animatronic dinosaurs, courtesy of Ed's Dinosaurs Live, will be in the house for the Jumbo Shrimp's Saturday night game against Gwinnett. The first 2,000 fans at the main gate can pick up a Triassic Ballpark T-shirt.

May 21: Technology for Shrimp

It's a night for "shedding light on technical mishaps at the ballpark," complete with a commemorative T-shirt for the first 500 fans at the Baptist Health Centerfield Plaza.

May 22: Can You Make the Call?

It's a chance for fans — on Thirsty Thursday, no less — to embrace their inner umpire. The ballpark will show video of close plays throughout the game, with fans asked to make the correct call within a five-second time limit.

May 24: Honey Drippers Weekend

This is the first of the two Honey Drippers Weekends (the second comes just before Labor Day), with the Jumbo Shrimp playing in their alternate Honey Drippers uniforms.

June 27: Almost Canada Day

A week ahead of Canada Day (it's July 1), this ballgame includes an offbeat celebration of Canadian culture for the contest against the Nashville Sounds.

July 10: Crowd Karaoke Night

Combine karaoke at VyStar Ballpark with Thirsty Thursday, and there's no way to know for sure what's going to happen next. The club will be displaying lyrics on the videoboard during breaks between innings.

July 12: Halloweekend

Bye-bye, Christmas in July. Hello, Halloween in July. Fans are invited to wear Halloween costumes to the ballpark, while the Jumbo Shrimp will be wearing mummy-themed jerseys.

July 31: Clippers Night

With the Columbus Clippers in town for a six-game series, fans can encounter clippers in a different way with haircuts on the concourse during the game. This might be one more ballpark activity that might produce unpredictable results when combined with Thirsty Thursday.

Aug. 15: Oat Milkers Night

It's Malmö Oat Milkers Night at the ballpark, a repeat of last year's promotion through Sweden-based food company Oatly. Expect Oat Milkers fan trivia and a "crazy first pitch."
