That is interesting because LeBron couldn't beat the Celtics so he had to go get his big brother Dwyayne Wade to do it for him.
So what. LeBeron has Wade & Bosh now. Championship!

Nobody said you weren't a Suns fan...you've just been rabid about your adamancy (I think I just made that word up) that you only support your home team, and your 2nd (I think) post made it sound pretty much like, for the time being, you're giving up on the Suns while they rebuild, and rooting for the Heat (even if it is just for them to beat the Lakers).

Personally, I'm rooting for the Suns to beat the Lakers & get the championship.
I'll be rooting for the Suns to beat the lakers too. But let's get real. This is David Stern's world, were just living in it.

I now understand the theory of "stay in school"

D-Wade 3 years Marquette
Bosh 1 year Georgia Tech
Lebron no college

The more educated of the 3 convinced his 2 less educated friends to take less money to play with him.

Sorry, I got that off facebook and thought it was amusing.

This thread is high comedy. That being said, the Heat will NOT win the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.

Best thread ever. Completely asinine, but also ridiculously awesome.

I don't think the Heat make the ECF this season...not over Boston or Orlando.

What is cocky about thinking a team of two redundant stars, a good but not great PF/C, a sharpshooting three guy off the bench, Big ol' Z and a bunch of min players are not going to beat Orlando or Boston in the East?

Note, I said nothing about the Lakers. But I don't think "your" Heat have the goods to make it to the ECF, much less the Finals and win it all.

You call it cocky; I call it realistic.

The Celtics are getting old.. The Magic have SVG.. Who is gonna gaurd LeBron? Who is gonna gaurd DWade? Cant double team either one now.. And you forgot about Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem.. Its coming.. Total Heat domination is coming..

They have paper thin interior offense and defense.

I still don't see how they expect to get past both Orlando and Boston. If the Lakers win the West and the Heat make it to the Finals, the Heat don't match up well with the size of the Lakers, who have improved defensively this offseason, and shored up their bench issues from last year. Odom, Barnes, Blake leading the second unit is a strong change from Odom, Farmar and Sasha.

Maybe in the strike season, Heat fan.

I'd flip that around. My thoughts are the Lakers BETTER win this upcoming season because the titles are over after that.

I give LA the slight edge this upcoming year because they have played together longer and should have a decided advantage at HC (assuming Riley stays on the sidelines) but even then, Vegas is not stupid and they just instilled the Heat as the favorites.

Suns will always be my #1 team, but living ten minutes from Miami and getting to see up close one of the most polarazing/potentially dominant teams in sports history is really exciting for me as a sports fan.

I love Kobe as a player and always have, but only the most blind of Lakers fans would not admit he's descending as a player and these 3 got together at just the right time.

Donald would you be interested in placing a bet on the Heat not coming out of the East?

Because my feeling is we will look back at that post in 10 months and find it highly laughable.

Not betting on an unknown - I honestly don't care if they make it out of the East. I don't think they can, but I think the Lakers matchup perfectly with them, despite their big three. Lakers can guard each of those guys, with Bynum to spare, while the Heat can't guard the Lakers stars nearly as well.

However, in two years time if the Heat gel next year, they will be dominant as they get to use the MLE. The strike will interrupt their ascendance, but that's their year.

IMO, they get 2 titles out of this group, but it won't happen in year one. This isn't the Celtics big three, which featured three complementary players and one who instilled a ferocious defensive mindset coupled with a defensive monster assistant coach in TT. Defensively, this Heat team isn't scary. Offensively, they are a monster. They'll be good in transition D too, but in half court sets, they will be taken down low. Outscoring the other team will work ok in the regular season, but not in the postseason. Boston (team D) and Orlando (shot blocking) will be a tough row to hoe. The Lakers vastly improved defensively last year, and improved again this offseason.

Miami will be a force in the regular season, but will get slapped in the mouth in the playoffs...how they deal with that will be interesting and will set the tone for the future of their dynasty.

In a van...down by the river.
I like Boston,but they're likely done.
Orlando could take that extra step....
I'm usually a guy who pulls for the underdog whenever my team is (cough)no longer participating...but despite all that i'm picking MIAMI. I mean, only 6 teams have won it over the last gazillion years anyway...may as well keep the trophy in the family

Realistic? I call it fear and probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen you write.

I could see you saying they won't win the title... that's realistic... I could see you saying they don't make the Finals... that's realistic. Saying this team with 2 of the top 5 players in the game, a Pau-like starter at PF and a bench of shooters to spread the floor won't make it to the ECF because Dwight Howard and his gang of... well... no one and the Celtics geriatric asses are in the East isn't realistic. It's laughable.

Like I said we'll look back in 9 months and laugh our asses off at that post.

Anyone who doesn't think that THIS Heat team doesn't have the goods in a league where stars mean EVERYTHING is either a worried Laker fan or bitter about Lebron James leaving Cleveland and praying he falls on his face.

But that ain't going to happen. We can write it down in permanant ink now. Barring injuries of course, it will be Lakers vs Heat in the Finals simple.

Are your bigs are?

Gasol = Bosh

Big Z = nothing you have since Bynum is never playing and you keep trying to unload him..

Gasol has a significantly better post game than Bosh. Not even close to being a comparison.

Bynum plays enough to matter.

But, this wasn't ABOUT the Lakers meeting the Heat in the finals...if that were to happen, the Lakers match up across the board better with the Heat than any team in the league, with Artest on LeBron, Kobe on Wade, Pau on Bosh and Bynum on Z.

This is about the Heat trying to make it TO the finals...and they have to go through Dwight Howard (nobody on the heat can guard him) and the frigging Celtics. As you saw on Tuesday, the Heat have a bigs problem...400 year old Shaq was having his way with them, then drool baby davis came in and did the same. Shaq, Davis, Jermaine and Kendrick is monster depth at the spot where the heat are vunerable. And with that size, the heat weren't able to operate around the rim (where both Dwade and Lebron have strength). The Heat have to get past either (or both) the Magic and the Celtics in order to even FACE the Lakers, which match up with them all over the floor.

Not gonna happen, Heat fan. Save your new LeBron jersey until after next season's lockout, because by then the Heat will be ready to win a title, unless they implode along the way to that season.
