Manning dominant in relief of injured QB Ewers

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers strained his oblique during Saturday's win against UTSA and was ruled out. Arch Manning had five total touchdowns in a dominant performance in relief.

Touted Texas backup quarterback Arch Manning stepped in for injured Quinn Ewers and the No. 2 Longhorns' offense didn't miss a beat in a 56-7 rout of UTSA on Saturday night in Austin.

Manning threw for 223 yards and four touchdowns and added a 67-yard rushing score in his most extensive playing time at the college level after Ewers exited in the second quarter because of an oblique strain.

Shorter Mac Jones/Chad Pennington/Teddy Bridgewater just needs to go to a good system/coach for a couple years and he could Baker Mayfield his career. Confidence goes a long way. Really tough to go to awful franchises, with bad coaches/front offices, and subpar talent and be successful without some serious special gifts and traits.
