following my discussion of the "good" i have to now fall back to my customary position of what stunk. kurt warner.

first allow me to say that i appreciated that he warrior'ed up and try to play today. second let me say that he's just done as a full-time game winning pro quarterback. as much as everyone doesn't want to admit it, what we're seeing kurt is exactly the same thing that we saw from kurt last year. a quarterback who cannot avoid the killer turnover and now has trouble with game management (though part of that is attributable to the coaching staff). that's three turnovers in the game. and we can argue whether the fumble was his fault as it was a blideside hit, but as i said in another thread, not all QBs ALWAYS fumble when hit, but kurt does. the pick he threw for the td was a killer. anyone see that stat during the game? something like teams that return an int for a TD win 79% of the time. so kurt's error narrowed our window of opportunity to 21% chance to win. (okay, i don't really believe that stat as a rule, but it's a telling stat nonetheless and needn't and shouldn't be ignored).

for years we dealt with jake's mistakes b/c he brought us back until we finally realized that it was just too much pressure he was creating for the team as a whole. kurt is the new, older version of jake. he has his positives and negatives, only his negatives outweigh his positives, most of the times these days.

if we could only have him in doses he'd be great. harry was spot-on in this observation. and please don't anyone think i'm clamoring for either of the timmy's, i'm not. i realize that of what we have available, warner's our best bet to win. i'm only pointing out that said "best bet" is more than likely a losing proposition.

again, credit to warner for buckling it up. but also recognition that he was a key component for why we lost and why we will likely continue to lose.

We are not good enough to overcome the turnovers playing Warner will bring most weeks. Not many teams would be.

We will have a difficult time if he continues to not protect the ball. It is a shame because the guy can still get into a groove throwing and it is a thing of beauty when he does.

that's the problem though - I agree with this, but all that being said, with Matt out, Warner's the QB who gives us the best chance to win. Now, with that being said, that chance is very small. Just can't lose the turnover battle and throw pick sixes and expect to win games. I love Warner's warrior mentality, but to be honest, there's better ways to spend 4 million dollars on this team.

I think that the Cardinals will come back with T Rattay as the starting QB. I expect K Warner to be in the no huddle as he was with Leinart. its hard to say anything negative about Warner today. He was a warrior and I recognize that. But, 3 critical errors: int which led to TD, int returne for a TD, and fumble inside the Redskin redzone were killers. Eliminate one of them and the Cardainls win this game.

Int that led to a TD, sustained by a dumb penalty by Dockett or it was a FG, that pick was on Warner. Pick ran back for a TD was on Boldin. He was on a post pattern in and then back out and he stopped and never broke out. Warner thru to a spot. This is not on Warner. Fumble was on the LT Brown. You can not let a speed rusher come off the end with your Qb in a 5 step drop. He will get sacked blindsided and will in almost every case fumble the ball. Look guys, Qb's Turn the ball over in every game. I think you are all guilty of not giving the Redskins Defense there due. and would rather blame Warner and cry in your beer. They are a really good Defense. One of the best in the league and We had it in our hands to win the game. We actually moved the ball well on them in the second half. We had problems with penalties. We have had this all year. Fix that and Warner can do better than keep us in games even with his fumbles. To throw him under the bus is stupid and juvenile when everyone knows that all Qbs throw Picks and fumble and still can give there teams a chance to win if there team on both sides of the ball play well and limit big plays by the other team. The Defense did that today except they had killer penalties at worse times.

lol. you speak as if warner has 1 or 2 TO's a game and every 7 or 8 games has a 3 or 4 TO game. THAT would be the norm for good QBs. unfortunately warner averages like 3 TOs a game dating back to last season. YOU CAN NOT WIN WITH A QB THAT DOESN'T VALUE THE BALL. YOU CANNOT. I WILL REPEAT IT ONE MORE TIME B/C I REMEMBER READING SOMEWHERE THAT MOST PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR THINGS THREE TIMES FOR IT TO STICK IN LONG TERM MEMORY . . . YOU CANNOT WIN TURNING THE BALL OVER 3 TIMES A GAME ON AVERAGE. that means no one else on your team can turn the ball over or else your encroaching on a 4 - 6 turnover game. and you KNOW the rest of the team will have a turnover or two.

BY SAYING HE DOESN'T VALUE THE BALL DOES NOT MAKE IT SO. YOU DONT WANT TO HERE THAT 2 OF THE TURNOVERS HE HAD WERE NOT ON HIM BUT ON THE LEFT TACKLE NOT DOING HIS JOB AND BY BOLDIN NOT FINISHING HIS ROUTE. THE QB TOUCHES THE BALL MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE HE IS GOING TO HAVE A TURNOVER OR 2. WARNER WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF 2 OF THE TURNOVERS TODAY. ONCE AGAIN WARNER WAS NOT THE CAUSE OF 2 OF THE TURNOVERS TODAY....MAYBE YOUR THEORY WILL BE RIGHT ABOUT HEARING THINGS 3 TIMES....IN YOUR CASE I DOUBT IT. We had a great chance to win today....big plays to Fitz and others got us in that position. Warners 1 Turnover did not cost us this game. Warners 2 Turnovers that were not on him. Everyone gives to much blame and credit to the Qb. This team had a chance to win because the team made plays on defense and Warner drove them down the field from the 9 for a TD. Get the FG and we win. It was a road game with a hostile crowd....WE did not have any kind of chance of blowing them out even playing mistake free football...so we did well being in the game. WE WERE AN 8 PT DOG THAT SHOWED HEART.

Am I missing something here? You mean Leonard Davis - BIG - now a Dallas Cowboy?

My bad...mean't our LT or RT or whatever position he plays...Brown the 1st round pick.

and here I was thinking you were just cutting and pasting from previous futile attempts at defending McCown. ;)

Now don't start that again....that was not Futile until Warner showed up. It is hard to believe that there were some defending Shaun King. And now it is futile when MAtt shows up...endless cycle....see chart of Cards Qbs in another thread. I also dissed Dave Brown and Stoney Case but liked Preston Parsons as a back up (but mostly because I hated Dave Brown).
