Let's kick this sucker off!

Should be a great game. Both teams coming off huge victories. A lot on the line for ASU, securing home field for the Pac 12 Championship, and major bragging rights on the line for both teams as usual obviously.
http://www.azcentral.com/sports/ter...s-much-play-territorial-cup-rivalry-game.html

So I am hereby calling all ASU and U of A fans, and all ASU and U of A haters, smack talkers and silent types alike, to come out of the woodwork and let us know what is going to happen on Saturday.

Come on people, we know who you are and where to find you!

;)

Go Devils !!!

:sparky:

Their students can't waste their time painting our A whatever colors they want as long as we win on the field. :D

If the craptastic Denker doesn't show up, should be pretty good.. For the good guys in red and blue..

Who cares? It's about who wins the football game. You can be concerned about the dress code, if you wish.

Evidently this game isn't good enough for a real broadcast outlet. Game is on Pac-12 Network.....which is not carried by DirecTV. :bang:

This should be a great game. I think ASU is pretty banged up from the UCLA game. I am not expecting Grice to play.

So do you start Lewis, who has had "ball security" issues", or do you take Foster out of the slot (where he has been awesome) and stick him in the backfield? Most likely, they will both get a lot of carries. I would expect U of A to key on Kelly and make him hand it off in the read option.

Strong has been incredible, but I also saw him limping off the field against UCLA. Our center got pretty banged up too, but don't recall if he came back into the game or not.

Overall, we have an advantage over U of A in the trenches. But on D, I think the poor tackling we showed at times versus UCLA, and other games, makes us real vulnerable to Carey, probably the best running back in the Country. I think he could have a big day.

Will Graham focus on U of A's running game and try to force Denker to beat us? Will be interesting to see what ASU comes up with defensively.

In the end, I think ASU will pull this one out by a touchdown despite a strong performance by U of A.

Neither side is innocent from the ugly 2000's uniform trend. We ought to both go back to what we were wearing in the mid 90s.

This will be the only time I ever recommend 90s fashion by the by.

Losing Grice would be huge. Not that he's anything close to a game-breaking, explosive threat. He just executes - flawlessly, time and time again. Losing his versatility and production is virtually impossible to replace given the current roster.
If it were me, I would start Lewis and leave DJ out in the slot... He and Kelly have worked well together in that alignment all year. No need to change it now.
Hopefully, Lewis will hold onto the ball and provide some spark and speed!

And, hopefully, Denker played the game of his life last week and he'll drop back to his pathetic ways on Saturday! :D

Expect to see Foster at RB with the 12 personnel groupings. He has looked really good in those sets.

I agree. Did you see that catch Grice made down the left side line late in the game? Amazing. That was the 2nd acrobatic catch I have seen him make this year. He is clutch and puts many receivers to shame. I also loves it when he runs the "wildcat" and takes the snap.

Lewis is a very strong ball carrier. He may be even tougher up the middle than Grice. Hopefully, he is getting a lot of practice reps this week so he can be ready to roll (and hang on to the ball :) )

Good to see you chiming in! We were about to send a search party out for you. ;)

Now, please explain to the ignorant types like me what the "12 personnel grouping" is.

12 personnel is 1 RB and 2 TE's. That leaves 2 WR's... I honestly don't recall the Devils running much of that formation.
But if Matt says that Foster is solid running out of the scheme, so be it... I still would prefer to see Foster in the slot, with Lewis in the backfield and the one TE being Coyle (11 personnel). Just seems like they have had a great deal of success with that formation...
