Saturday morning saw shockwaves ripple through the college basketball landscape with the news that Michigan basketball had landed the No. 1 overall player in the transfer portal, UAB power forward Yaxel Lendeborg.
Lendeborg is the third transfer portal commitment this cycle for the Wolverines, as he joins former North Carolina point guard Elliot Cadeau and Illinois guard Morez Johnson Jr. Though Lendeborg is in the fold, fans and the program will be holding their breath as he'll test the NBA draft waters to see if it's a viable option to declare for the pro ranks. But at least for now, the maize and blue have a superstar-in-waiting that can help propel Michigan to the next level in Dusty May's program.
Naturally, the reactions came in hot, with many in the media having some big takes on Lendeborg joining the Wolverines. Here are our favorites.

Yaxel would have been top of the list among recent targets. Losing him to Michigan is unequivocally a bad sign. Still a chance to put together a good team, but they don't only need several difference makers, but a couple of studs like Yaxel.

The Wolverines and Dusty may are LOUDLY building one of the best programs in the nation.
Lendeborg was the best player in the portal and Michigan has its Danny Wolf replacement—but Yax is better https://t.co/B3mKV0i5sx

Michigan’s portal class so far: Yaxel Lendeborg (No. 2), Morez Johnson (No. 5) and Elliot Cadeau (No. 33). Lendeborg is the best two-way player in the portal and would give Dusty May another unique talent to build around. His NBA decision will be closely monitored in Ann Arbor.
